Greetings to the jewelry community and every creative mind here; it's quite exciting to share my first piece of jewelry.
One very interesting thing about hive is that when you go around interacting with others, there is an endless possibility of beautiful things you can find.
Beadwork is a skill I learned a long time ago, it was something that interested me so much, so I chose it out of all the skills acquisition programs available during my national youth service year. But for some reason, I haven't been doing beadwork for a while.
Somewhere last week, I came across a Jewelry post in this lovely community that inspired me to dust my bead-making tools and start creating again.
So, I visited the market to get some bead accessories, and below is my first creation. Please tag along and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it.
I'm making beautiful Orange dropped earrings, suitable to be worn on gowns, jeans, and tops dresses 👗 while I was at the market, I was attracted by the beautiful orange color of the bead, so i thought of a design that it will be well suited with.
Time; it took me roughly five hours, a bit longer than I expected, maybe because I hadn't done beading work in a long time. But it was fun and exciting to revive this skill. I'm still at the beginner level, and my intention is to continue to learn about beadwork and take my skills to a more advanced and perfect level.
Material used;
✓Orange color Stone bead, size 8, 32-piece. I used 16 beads for each of the earrings.
✓Standard head pins, 11-piece
✓Gold earrings wire 2 piece
✓earrings gold chain 2 piece
Tool; 3-1 earrings cutter
S Step-by-steptutorial of the earrings;
Firstly; I Insert the head pin in the hole of a bead, then use the earrings cutter to curve a stopper at both ends. Curving the stopper was a bit challenging for me; I had to try a few times, and I still need to improve on it in the future.
Once that is done, I put the bead in the first hole of the earring chain. Using the outer mouth of the cutter.
Next, I put the second bead on the chain, leaving a hole between the first and the second bead. Then, put the thirst bead, leaving a hole between the second bead and the third bead.
Once that was done, I left five chain holes and then put 12 beads in all the remaining holes of the chain.
The next step was to put the earning wire on the first hole of the chain at the top, by using the cutter to open the hole, put the chain and close it back and ta-da we have our earrings ready😊
I had so much fun making the earrings, and I have some more materials and designs I will be making in my free time and sharing them with us in the coming days. My husband, and my great creative fan, love the earrings, and he told me if I continue to make lovely earrings like this, he will show them to his colleagues at work so they might patronize me😊 I like the sound of that. Hopefully, they will like my work.
