How my life changed after He was gone - LOH CONTEST #190.

in #hive-1895046 months ago

Happy weekend to you and happy fathers' day to all the fathers in the world. I am delighted to participate in this week ladies of hive contest as I will be dedicating this post to honour my late dad. I will be writing on the first question which goes thus:

"Changes are inevitable but sometimes we find it difficult to adapt to them. Was there a circumstance or a sudden change that impacted your life, routine, or lifestyle? How did you deal with it? Did you have a hard time? Please share the story."

While growing, I enjoyed the impact of a loving father, I was the last born and I was pampered by my dad. My father was a village chief so most times he attends to villagers by ensuring that there is peace in our locality. I remembered there was a bamboo tent besides our house where he normally sits to enjoy the fresh air blowing in the cool of the day. I was always with him. I enjoy sitting on my father's laps and resting on his chest.

We eat together, no late night food and I follow him to most of his meetings. Nobody dare beat me because my Dad will never take it lightly with them. Despite all these, he never fails to use his cane anytime I erred. He takes me to school every morning and buys clothes for I and my siblings.

Things changed for me when my father became sick and this led to stroke. My mom had to devote her time to take care of my Dad. I was moved to the city to stay with my grandparents and it wasn't something easy for me at first. I cried for days because my grandparents were strict on me. Most times we eat late and I wasn't getting attention as I used to. When I got enrolled in school, I had to trekked long distance before I could get to school, it was difficult to cope with my new lifestyle.

I remembered while staying with my Dad, going to church was not mandatory but with my grandparents, we must attend all church programs. The first time Someone flogged me and I reported to
My grandma she added to it. I will always pray for my Dad to recover but the miracle never happened. He died two years later. I had to encouraged myself and continued living with my grandparents because we lost most of my father's properties while he was sick and my mom needed to hustle more to be able to cater for the family.

(My dad)
The death of my loving and caring Dad led to a great change in my life. Although, it was not easy for me at first because I was happy with my dad and safe whenever he is around but staying with my grandparents I had to fight for my safety and struggle to become someone in life.

Thanks for reading my post.
