Hello, good morning everyone. I hope you are having a nice morning. To the wonderful creators of crafts, congratulations for all these beauties that you elaborate daily, I admire immensely the creativity and talent of all. I have wanted to make a flannel or shirt with the Hive logo for some time, remembering the times when I started this activity. I was 15 years old, more or less, and my aunt would buy me the unicolor flannels wholesale, brushes and acrylic paints... and I would create unique designs on each one.
There was no internet at that time, so I was inspired by the drawings in my notebooks, magazines, posters and comics. They looked beautiful, and sold very well. I am pleased to share with you my shirt with the Hive logo and a beautiful little animated bee. Below I tell you what materials I used, and give you the steps to follow.

Para los maravillosos creadores de manualidades, felicidades por todas esas bellezas que elaboran a diario, admiro inmensamente la creatividad y el talento de todos. Yo desde hace un tiempo había querido elaborar una franela o camisa, con el logo de Hive, rememorando los tiempos en que emprendí con esta actividad. Yo contaba con 15 años, más o menos, y mi tía me compraba las franelas unicolores al mayor, pinceles y pinturas acrílicas… y yo creaba diseños únicos en cada una.
No existía internet en aquel momento, así que me inspiraba en los dibujos de mis cuadernos, en revistas, afiches y cómics. Quedaban muy hermosos, y se vendían muy bien. Me complace compartir con ustedes mi camisa con el logo de Hive y una hermosa abejita animada. A continuación les digo qué materiales usé, y les doy los pasos a seguir.
What materials did I use?
To make my flannel, the first thing I looked for was a comfortable model, made of soft fabric, and that would absorb the paint without problems. In this case, cotton is the perfect material, and to make the colors stand out more, I used white in the fabric. Here is the list of materials:
-A white cotton flannel
-Three brushes (one with a very fine tip, one thin and one thick)
-White sheets
-Pencil, eraser, pencil sharpener, and pencil
-Thick black marker
-Acrylic paints in red, black, yellow and light blue colors
-Images of the Hive logo and a bee
-Ruler
¿Qué materiales usé?
Para elaborar mi franela, lo primero que busqué fue un modelo cómodo, de tela suave, y que absorbiera la pintura sin problemas. En este caso, el algodón es el material perfecto, y para que se destacaran más los colores, usé el color blanco en la tela. A continuación toda la lista de materiales:
-Una franela blanca de algodón
-Tres pinceles (Uno de punta muy fina, uno delgado y uno grueso)
-Hojas blancas
-Lápiz, borrador, sacapuntas y lapicero
-Marcador grueso color negro
-Pinturas acrílicas de colores rojo, negro, amarillo y azul claro
-Imágenes con el logo de Hive y de una abeja
-Regla
The steps to follow
The first step was to create the stencils with the letters and logo. I made them out of paper, drew the Hive logo and the letters, and then cut out the inside to use on the flannel. I also drew the little bee and then marked it on the fabric.
Los pasos a seguir
El primer paso fue crear las plantillas con las letras y el logo. Las hice de papel, dibujé el logo de Hive y las letras, y luego recorté su interior para usarla sobre la franela. De igual manera dibujé la abejita para luego marcarla sobre la tela.
Once the letters, logo and bee were marked on the flannel, I began to fill them in with acrylic paint.
Una vez marcadas las letras, el logo y la abejita sobre la franela, comencé a rellenarlas con pintura acrílica.
Then I waited for the letters to dry before marking the edges with a pen and marker. Finally I was guided by these lines to finish with a fine brush on the edges and give another coat of paint on the inside.
Luego esperé que secaran las letras para remarcar las orillas con lapicero y marcador. Finalmente fui guiándome por estas líneas para rematar con un pincel fino en las orillas y darle otra mano de pintura en el interior.
In the same way I worked the logo and the little bee, first I filled the inside, and finally I went to the edges with a fine brush. I waited for them to dry and gave them another coat of paint on the inside to finish my design.
De la misma manera trabajé el logo y la abejita, primero rellené el interior, y finalmente me fui a las orillas con un pincel fino. Esperé que secaran y les di otra mano de pintura en su interior para finalizar mi diseño.
And this is the final result of my white flannel with the Hive logo.
