Art and craft was something I loved even when the odds were against me because how does an art and craft person find it difficult to draw a straight line without using a ruler and the strange thing is even if I use a ruler there is a chance it won't be straight.
I can remember one time when I was in primary school and our arts and crafts teacher told us about a competition and I was so eager to represent my school, the task to qualify for to competition was to craft 20 different objects as a team and submit it before a particular date, I remember staying late in school so I can meet up with my team project but something came up and we couldn't go again, everything changed when I switch school because the new school doesn't have a plan for craft or art in the school.
When I came across the DIY BEE competition, I felt like this is something I could participate in even though it has been years since I did it so I decided to come up with THE BEES FAMILY PHOTOSHOOT.
The first thing I did was get a cardboard, cello tape, paper gum, a battery, scissors, a pencil, ruler.
To come out with the bee craft I imagined, I had to first cut in equal size and that was where the ruler and pencil came in, I needed to measure each size so as not to waste my equipment for the project.
After the measurement and cutting of the cardboard to my preferred size, it was time for the cello tape, I would have loved to use something else just to get my yellow and black colour for the bee but there is no black cardboard which is why I used the cello tape. I used the sharp side of a compass, to trace the size of the tape I wanted to make it perfect.
Putting the cello tape on the cardboard brought out the perfect colour I was looking for.
I use the same method for the antenna and the eyes too
After this I used the battery to form the cylinder shape I was looking then I glued it together then glued the eyes after that
I thought about the feather then I decided to do something different then I came in with another color
Then finally my bees are ready for their family photo shoot, and here ks the outcome of my work

Working on this actually brought back a lot of good memories and I couldn't help but keep smiling while working on the project, I can't wait to get into the next contest
