This is my new project for my garden, something I’ve been planning for a while but only started this week. I finished it in just two hours.
I really thought carefully about how to reinforce this plastic tube, which I got from our office. It was about to be thrown away, so I asked for it instead and decided to use it in my garden. This way, I wouldn’t need to use wood, which tends to deteriorate after a few months.
This way, it’s much easier to move it to another location when needed and just as easy to dismantle for relocation. I also used cable ties to secure the plastic tube instead of wire, which often rusts and breaks over time.
I used old plastic mineral water bottles, cutting holes on both sides and the bottom to prevent water from staying too long and rotting the plant roots. Honestly, I got this idea from a video I watched, but I modified it a bit since they used wood and bamboo in their version.
I also used a metal rod that I got from my office. This will serve as the overhead support for the plants to climb on, and when they bear fruit, the fruits can hang from it.
I’m planning to make another one like this, but this time, I’ll plant string beans. The one I planted here is bitter melon. I’ll probably start working on the next one in a week.
