Good day fellow Diy-er (is that even a word?)😁 Anyways u know what I mean, come with me for my DIY adventure...
I've always bought rice powder in packs buh one blessed rice powder day My DIY spirit asked "is this not made from the same rice we consume?" As little as Diy can be I want to try it myself because I love to consume organic at all possible time. I bought the Locally produced rice ( they're more rich in fibre) and I want to make it from scratch myself. Let's get to the processes of making the powder
Picking dirt and shaft from the rice after measuring the needed quantity.
Next is to pour the rice in an already boiling water for perboilling, stir on medium heat for a minute just enough to perboil it
Then drain the hot water out in a sieve, pour some cold water on it to stop the boiling process and allow to cool a little
Next, wash off excess starch by washing inside salt water (cold) and leave to drain for 1hour (more or less)
It's time to sun dry (put on a tray or more (depending on the quantity of the rice) and spread evenly) or put in a dehydrator to dry out if that's the case in your area.
Once dried, Pour in a blender (i used an heavy duty machine) and blend into a fine powder and our rice powder is ready for try out in recipes. I had to sieve the rice at some point to remove possible rice remnants
I use the powder to make rice pudding most times (I'd gladly share my recipe some other time), skin care, hair care and also rice balls, any recipe that requires rice powder I believe my locally and organic made powder can fit in cos it looks the same and tastes almost same with factory made.
