Hello everyone,
Season greetings 🎄
It's the holiday period over here and the weather here has been very dry and hot. I thought it was a good idea this Christmas that I utilize it well. I wanted to be a bit more innovative therefore I opted to devise a summer cap using cardboard paper. This was a great and easy diy craft that made it possible for me to do something different to bring myself cooler when in the sun. Here’s how I did it.
Materials Needed
- Cardboard paper
- Scissors
- Glue or tape
- A pencil
- Ruler
Stickers, markers or paints preferably in decorative form or in a place which can easily be cleaned.

Steps to Make the Cap
I started by cutting two straight lines on the cardboard paper to form a circle which is the base of the cap. I made it long enough so it can wrap round my head.
Using the wrapper circle shape from the cardboard to take measurements of the brim, then I use a ruler and pencil to draw carefully. Using scissors, I carefully cut out all the parts. I made sure the measurements were accurate so the cap would fit perfectly.
I glued the side strip to the circular piece to form the shape of the cap. Then, I attached the brim to the front of the side strip, creating the classic cap shape.
Once the structure was complete, I added my personal touch. I used markers to draw patterns and added a little write up made my own love stickers to give it a summer vibe. You could even paint it for a more colorful look
To ensure the cap was perfect, I retouch the edges with extra gum and adjusted it to fit comfortably on my head.
