Hi, DIYHub community! I am sharing with you some of my handmade works with love—a handpainted monogram and a flower wreath for my sister's wedding card.
My sister married in our hometown, in the Philippines while I am here in France. She invited me to her wedding but for an impractical reason, it is not easy for me to go home and fly with my family. Everything is so expensive.
Since I don't have a job here in France, I could not think of an expensive gift for her. I realized, why not do a handmade creation for her wedding?
Handpainted Monograms
My sister's name starts with the letter A and her husband starts with the letter E. I made this using A4 paper. I created a grid to start drafting the letters and the flowers.
I am using Himi Gouache paint to color. I just draw random flowers.
I am using Black fine-liner pens 08, 05, and 03.
I create some details.
It's time to erase the pencil traces.
For the letter A, I colored it pink using acrylic pens. For the letter E, I colored it sky using acrylic pens, too.
Oh, I am surprised with the result. It looks so pretty. This is actually the first time I did this. I am thinking I want to do this as a business for handmade cards.
Anyway, there are several AI that can help you design this but handpainted/handmade creations are just special.
Okay, let's move on to the next project.
Handpainted Flower Wreath
I am still using an A4 paper. I traced an oval shape for the wreath.
I decided to paint everything on the spot and not use any pencil sketching. I painted some roses, some hydrangeas, and some random flowers.
I have to fill up the oval shape with flowers and leaves.
I am surprised by the result again. Another first time to do this. I am in love.
It's time to do some calligraphy designs for their names. Too bad, I am not really good at it.
I just need to erase the pencil tracing.
And voila! Here's the result. I want to do a lot of this. Now, I am inspired to create handmade birthday cards, and invitation cards for weddings, baptisms, and different occasions.
Final Output
I sent the final output photos of my work to my sister and this is what it looks like for her wedding invitation.
She made these invitation cards for her colleagues at work.
I am glad she's happy with my creations.
My Sister in her Wedding Dress
And there goes my sister in her wedding dress, my older brother and my aunt brought her to the altar.
What do you think of my handmade creations? Do you like it or do you love it? Hehehe!
