Greetings at @diyhub Community! It has been a while now since I share with you my repair works. I have lately been very busy in my farm that's why I don't often give you updates of what is going on. My standing fan has been a challenge for some few weeks. It had some minor repairs and it has remained in my room for number of days without repairing it. Room have been cool lately due to the frequent rainfall, so I don't often switch on my fan. Today, I decided to come and repair it so that it doesn't lead to any other problem again.

The original fault is from the standing and few accessories. I decided to bring it to bring to my Boss shop after school. So, I didn't waste time when I arrived this afternoon in the house. I took it straight to the shop to begin losing the bolt and knot of the affected part. I after the bolts and knots have been removed, I tried to assemble them so that none of them is lost.

The process of repairing

First was to remove the bolts and knots of the two cross metal bars at the base of the fan. Even all the metal parts had been coated with paints but there were some tears and wear due to rusting of the surface as a result of atmospheric oxygen and moisture which might have reacted at that surface. I removed all the bolts and knots using screw driver and assembled them at a nice place that I can see them easily.

The next was to straightening of the bent base to enable it stand firmly. The affected place that had wear off was fixed with some metal plate. The bolts and knots which were removed were fixed at the various positions and well tightened. One thing that I have to ensure is placing the fan at vantage point so that it doesn't fall off from the ground and to prevent my kinds from playing with it.

Fixing of the parts that have been repaired and tightening them well.

There was little problem on the motor housing and clutch knob not able to turn the entire grille. So I led my Boss to guide me to do that affected part. Even though there were few work load at the shop but I had to return home do some few household chores. So I sought permission from my Boss to come home.

My standing fan is now fit and functioning well. I need to protect it from fall and coming into contact with moisture, one of the conditions that make metal rust. It always good to also have few tools with me that I can use to repair minor cases like this.
