I was just by myself in the room when I had a reflection of my younger days, remembering how I was fond of playing on the swing with my friends in school. So, I decided to craft a paper swing to capture those moments and keep those memories alive.
Let's make a paper swing to reflect on childhood memories
Equipments needed
.Ruler for measurement
. 2 Cardboard papers(white and pink) and a carton to craft out the swing.
. Scissors to cut out measurements.
. Gum or glue for merging.
Steps required
Cut out a white cardboard with 12.5cm width and 23cm length. After doing that, use your pencil or any long object to roll the paper little by little and gum it at the end to make it merge firmly together.
Once you are done with that do four more because we will be needing five of those stands for the swing.
Now, put your glue on the edges and gum two of them at one side. Do the same for the other two and gum as well on another side. After doing that they would be in the M direction.
Now, take your last stand and gum it at both edges as well. After doing that, make the four merged stands be side by side and merge the last stand unto of them just as seen in this picture.
The next thing to do is to cut out a pink cardboard of 1.5cm width and 16cm height. You would do this twice and roll the pink papers on different sides of your swing.
After rolling the pink paper make sure to put the gum at the end to make them be tightened firmly to the swing
The next step is to cut out two white cardboards of 11cm width and 14cm height. Roll them with your pencil the same way with thr first stands and gum them tightly at the end too.
Once you are done with that place your gum on the two pink rolled papers on the swing and merge the two white cardboards on both sides.
Now, we move to the seat of the swing and for that I cut out two different pieces of carton( the smaller one and the bigger one) . The bigger one was cut out with a width of 7cm and length of 9cm while the smaller one was cut out with a length of 6 by 6cm. I took the smaller one and placed it on a white cardboard and used that to wrap it. Same thing for the bigger carton but instead of white I made use of a pink cardboard.
Immediately that has been done, put the smaller one that would serve as a resting part on the pink that would serve as the seat and merge them together.
After doing that glue the seat to the stands in the middle to the white swing rolled paper to get this.
I went further and cut another cardboard for the under of the stands. I didn't measure anything I just tried out different cartons until I got the one that I felt was better.
I wrapped it up as well with a pink cardboard and made my pink stand firmly on it.
This is the final step.
The swing is now swinging hehe.
Thanks for following me to the end.
