Hello everyone! Hope you're all doing great. It's been a while since I've worked on crafts and DIY projects.
Today, I decided to try out a simple craft – making(a tassel earring). I learned this skill at a recent acquisition program and thought it was time to put it into practice.
Tassel earrings are cute accessories that can be worn with any outfit . They are simple to make and these cute earrings can either be done by using yarn or wool; it depends on how you want it.
For me, I decided to use wool because that was what was available at the time.
I used easily accessible tools to create my design. What inspired me was a color-themed picnic, where everyone had to dress in a specific color. I chose maroon and wanted matching jewelry to complement my outfit.
Tools I used
- Maroon coloured wool
- Earring hooks
- Scissors
- A small piece of carton paper.
Time needed: 15 mins
And the steps were quite easy which I'll share.
Steps I took to create a tassel earring.
- First of all, I took my carton paper and started wrapping the wool around it.
I continued to wrap the wool around my the carton paper for a moment, and as i was wrapping it i would feel the weight.
Note: if you don't have a carton paper you could still make ise of your fingers to wrap it but the carton is more easy to use.
- I wrapped the wool to my satisfaction, and then i carefully removed it out of the carton paper with my fingers
- When i was done removing it, i used a scissors to cut the one i wrapped into two.
- I kept that aside and cut a short wool so i could use to tie the head together.
- When i was done with cutting the short wool, i used it to tie the two parts together.
- When i was done tying, i trimmed the earring so that it could be of equal size.
- Then i made use of my hands to fix the hook on the upper part of the earring.
Note: You could use a plier to fix the hook to gove you a perfect look. I did not have a ploer available so i opted to use my hand.
- After fixing the earring hook , i did the final trimming and my earrings were set.
Thank you and i hope you'll love to try it.
