A pumpkin with a beautiful, orange-yellow color. Creates a comfortable effect for those who look at it. In some regions, pumpkins are synonymous with autumn. That's why there are so many recipes that use pumpkin for fall dishes.
A warm fall drink made from pumpkin is also delicious to serve even if it's not autumn. For example, in our country, we can make drinks from pumpkin ingredients at any time. Because pumpkin stock is always available on the market.
However, pumpkin drinks are not popular among Indonesian people. There are only a few coffee shops from overseas franchises that provide pumpkin-based drinks.
In Indonesia, pumpkin is more commonly used as a dessert cooked with coconut milk and brown sugar.
Since I love pumpkin, also I have a pumpkin puree side, so I thought about making a pumpkin late in hot version.
In the past, I often made iced pumpkin latte. But for this time, I will make a hot version that is easy to make. We just need to mix all the ingredients in a cooking pan.

In summary, you can puree around 250 grams of roasted/steamed pumpkins using a strainer.
THE INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup of pumpkin puree
- 2 cups of coconut milk or another type of milk
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar or honey
- 1 teaspoon of pumpkin spices or here I use cinnamon stalks and dried cloves. You can also add star annise.
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
After we get the pumpkin puree, put all the containers into the cooking pan. Stir well until the pumpkin puree dissolves in the coconut milk.
Note that coconut milk must have a liquid texture. Don't be thick. But, if you want to make an iced pumpkin latte, you can use milk with a thick texture.
After all the ingredients are mixed evenly, turn on the heat. Use low heat. Then bring the mixture to simmer.
Lift and serve. If the texture is too thick, you can add water or milk again according to your taste.
The pumpkin latte is slightly brown in color because I used brown sugar here. In my opinion, brown sugar with a delicious distinctive aroma is suitable for pumpkin.
I like this warm drink. Suitable on my tongue. In my opinion, it is also suitable as an iced version.
If you want to make an iced version, you can blend pumpkin puree, pumpkin spices, milk and ice cubes together. Then, serve. You can also add whipping cream. ❤️
