You can only succeed wen you know your 'why'

I was talking to a friend this morning in my room and she was complaining bitterly about the stagnancy of her hive account. She also complained of how she was not getting encouraging results. I am used to this complain because a lot of newbies come with this complain about 90% of the time. So I went to check her account out and I was not shocked at what I saw. She was not consistent with anything. She would write for some days and leave for weeks. She was also involved in gaming and it was the same.

I then asked her why she was not consistent, she gave series of excuses. Some were valid while others were not.

She said things like hive is not easy and that was why all the people who joined at the time she joined gave up.

Then she said something and I quote

I have never been consistent with anything in my life apart from making zobo.
It was surprising.
This was the funniest thing I have heard this year.
I must admit when she was making Zobo, she was so committed to it.
Then I asked her why she was so consistent with her Zobo making and she said she wanted to buy a sewing machine.
She said there were times when she would wake up in the middle of the night and she wiould end up making 100 bottles that night.

She eventually bought the sewing machine.

What’s the point of the story?

The first point of the story is inconsistency in doing the worng things lead to below par results. Most people want to be very rich but yet have never done anything that is consistent with wat the rich do.
In the same vein, a lot of newbies want to be like the top guys but do not do what the top guys do.
They come in today and the next time you see them is in a month’s time.
On the hive blockchain, you have to consistently engage and write posts in both bullish and bearish seasom.
You have to write when your post gets nothing and when your post gets a hundred dollars.

The second point of this story is; if you give room for excuses, they will definitely come.
For everything you want to succeed in, there is always a price to pay.
There is always an excuse that seems right but can be avoided.
If you are going to succeed in life or on the blockchain, you have to work with the principle of NO EXCUSES.

The third point of this story is, comparison kills.
Most people are tempted to compare themselves with others. Sometimes it can be rewarding when the comparison is a source of motivation.
Other times it can be devastating and life threatening.
When you compare yourself with people who have failed at something, you give yourself doubt in your capacity.
A lot of people told me that I cant make anything from the hive blockchain. As a matter of fact, about 98% of people who started the hive journey with me have stopped grinding on the blockchain.
Guess what I have made over two thousand dollars from writing and over another two thousand dollars from gaming.
The truth is, the best way to do things is to compare who you were yesterday with who you are today and put it in your subconscious that you have to better than who you were yesterday.
The only assessment that gives peace of moond is seeing yourself grow.
The final point of this story and which is the most important point is; know the reason why you are doing something.
A lot of people do not know the reason why they are doing a lot of things. This is why most of them do things haphazardly with so much lassitude.
Once a person figures out his ‘why’ and focuses on it, chances are that he is most likely going to hit the target.
This is the reason why most people are rich and why most people are poor. It is also the same reason why people are successful and why people are failing.

Once you can have the reason why you are doing something, you will definitely succeed at it.
However, there is a catch to it, the 'why' has to be strong enough.
Thank you for reading.
