There is a saying that what you do or refused to do will have effects on your life. They also say your decisions today will affect you tomorrow. So, this wraps up in the circle of decisions, and everything in our life is based on decision. If you make good decisions for yourself, you will have results but if you make the other way round you will have the other result.
Therefore, making decisions seems to be the hardest thing to make in life. Freedom is good but it also can lead to abuse and that is why we teach kids. There are also adult kids in the world that make awful decisions for themselves and some of them don't even want to learn until they see the result of their decisions.
I know the story of a young boy whose parents want to support him and get him to the best place in life. When the boy reached 18 years, he told his parent that it is time that he will start making decisions for himself.
His parents tried to make him understand that no matter how long you think you have been here, we have more experience than you are and life is just like a movie. If you have watched it before, you'll know the next scene after the current one. He ignored it and started deciding life for himself. He tried many things but failed in all until he realized that in life you need somebody.
We all need somebody in life. Someone we can ask, seek and get from. Someone who has seen the movies of the path we want to follow and he will point out places where there could be portholes.
We need someone with experience for us to make the right decisions always. Wisdom is not the same with experience. You can be wise but naive. There is no magic. Life is a process.
When you want to make that big decision, find someone sane and ask questions. You can't live all by yourself.
