When Aliya was done with her makeup, it was almost time for her school party. She exhaled as she got up from her seat and thanked Miss Claire for a job well done. They hugged and parted ways.
She sent her brother out of her room to go get dressed while she got dressed herself. She looked at the peach lace ball gown for a while before touching it. She rolled her fingers on the dress and removed it from the hanger it was hung.
She wore it slowly, looking at herself from time to time in her dressing mirror. She felt pretty but incomplete. Tears welled up in her eyes again and she fought hard to hold them back so she didn't ruin her day and makeup. She wanted her last day at Brookstone's high school to be perfect and Worth it but was it ever gonna be? She asked herself as she sat on her ottoman to put on her stilettos.
When She was fully dressed, she walked out of her room elegantly like a princess "oh wow! Behold the princess of Brookstone" her brother spoke in so much astonishment as he bowed his head to show how much he admired her gracious look.
"Oh dear Aliya, you make me remember my last wedding anniversary" her mom said with shimmering eyes that almost broke Aliya.
"Mom! Please don't remind me, I'm trying to hold that back. I'm trying not to remember he left too soon, I'm trying so hard to keep my cool. Don't you think I remember the last time we had a deep conversation, how he told me he couldn't wait to watch me graduate and how he badly wanted to drive me to college himself? Please mom save this for another time lest you make me stay back". She snatched the car keys from the table and stormed out of the house, her little brother following behind her.
"I understand everything Aliya, we all miss dad and I know you were closer to him more but don't worry you'll be fine soon , we'll all be fine, please cheer up my queen" he ended his motivational speech with a smile and sat close to her like her King.
Her face gleamed with smiles as she turned and looked at him. He looked and spoke exactly like his father. She hugged him closely before igniting the car's engine. "Let's rock this day" she said and Jack responded immediately with his hands high, he screamed "yeah".
Their mom finally joined them in the car and took over the driver's seat while Aliya went to the back seat.
When they got to school, the school's environment was lit, different colors filled the air as many students showcased their wealth in what they wore. Aliya bowed her head and said a short prayer before getting out of the car.
She got down majestically as if she was the queen Elizabeth of her time, each step she made was unintentionally graceful all her eyes were now on her. Her choice of dress was perfect for her body, her stilettos were amazing as it graced her every step just then Bryan walked up to her.
"Hey Aliya! You look gorgeous I must confess, allow me to be the first to ask to have a dance with you tonight" Aliya blushed and stretched out her hands to him for a handshake and then said "you bet!" He grinned and took her hands he rubbed his fingers over hers and she blushed even more before withdrawing her hands from his hold.
"I'm sorry, pardon my manners but your palms are so soft and you have very delicate skin". "Oh! Thanks for the compliment Bryan" with a straight face she walked through the hallway to find her seat number.
Everything was arranged perfectly like a royal ball night. The lights were blue and romantic. Aliya blushed again as she remembered all that happened between her and Bryan. She had a crush on him but always tried to avoid him whenever he came around her.
The ceremony was declared open and Aliya was called upon to give the speech. When She got up from her seat, her little brother Jack cheered for her. He clapped as loud as he could with his little hands and was so glad the girl that was to give the speech was his sister.
She gave her speech fluently her eyes fixed sometimes to her mom, brother and Bryan. It was an emotional moment for everyone that when she was done, the whole crowd applauded her majestic look and brilliancy.
It was time to dance and Bryan wasn't late at all he stood behind her before she could realize it and whispered romantically to her ears "may I have this dance my lady?".
Tears rolled down her cheeks as she saw her little brother give her a thumbs up as he walked out of the hall with her mom. The dance was only meant for the graduating students.
Let the prom begin came a voice from the stage opening the prom night. The students cheered as romance filled the air.
They made sure their last day was worth it and of course Aliya met her match and she returned home smiling and humming songs of joy.
The end!
