I was raised in the countryside and my upbringing is rooted in a rural setup where you may not find the high-end Urban lifestyle. So I have a natural affinity with villages, Nature, mountains, paddy fields, etc.
Two things keep my village life fascinating:-
- Growing vegetables in the backyard
- Synthesizing lifestyle with Natural ecosystem, flowers, the crescendo of birds, etc
That said, I do not detest someone just because he/she is an urban dweller.
KALU
My morning ritual starts with doing yoga for at least 25 mins every day, then I go to my garden and as you can see Kalu(the stray Dog in our locality, his name is KALU) who happen to visit every day in the morning with an expectation of getting food.
I usually offer him ROTI every day in the morning, and he is the don here in this locality and he does not let others come near me. But once he departs, I call other stray dogs and offer food to all. A pack of other stray dogs also visit my garden during the evening time. And my father feed them usually.
This gives me joy and a sense of contentment that I could do something for other living creatures around me.
My mom in the meantime keeps collecting flowers from the garden. I keep myself engaged with other stuff like watering veggies, and taking care of them.
As you can see we have grown a variety of veggies like साग, गवार(cluster bean), भिंडी(Okra), करेला(Bitter Guard), ककड़ी(Cucumber), and fruits like Banana.
I help my mom in tidy up things and keep them in order. Also, I regularly do watering of the plants. Because of the intense heat, these days we are watering at least twice.

We are self-reliant as far as veggies are concerned, however we do buy grocery items from the store. So we lead an organic life and the cost of living is low, you can not believe that with just 40 USD(per person) one can easily lead a happy life in the village.
