Today is Sunday and I had woken up early knowing fully well that it's of great importance to be in church at a good time because there will be a special program today. Bearing in mind that it's the last Sunday before Christmas, I rose up from my bed quickly and booted my laptop to do a little retouching on the graphics work which I nearly finished yesterday. After I was done I went straight to the bathroom and took a hot water bath. Before I knew it, I found myself in church.
Normally people don't mostly remember the topic of the sermon on a Sunday service but I remembered this one because it captivated my mind. The summary of it all is to be happy and content with what you have because God knows your needs. Lack of contentment can lead to many things, most especially on the negative side.

In many parts of the world, lack of contentment had lead some people to work harder or change their jobs to make a better future on the positive side, contrary to this fact there are many who have indulged in drug businesses because of the steady flow of income and the large sum of money can be realized from it.
There are many who have also involved themselves in kidnapping and human trafficking because of the amount of money that can be made from it.
Some are hit men who get hired to accomplish tasks of killing people to earn money. What about beautiful young ladies who are into prostitution today? These are just a few.
What about those who have lost their lives due to lack of being contempt because of being involved in one crime or another?
Some marriages and relationships that would have yielded good things today have broken apart because one partner wasn't enough for one person so they started cheating.
Lack of contentment in fact seems to be one of the major reasons for many terrible things we humans have been involved in today.
Is there a way out, are there any remedies?I feel one of the remedies is to learn about the power of contentment. Education is key I believe. Getting educated on the topic of contentment helps to give a clearer understanding of what one stands to benefit as a result of being in a state of satisfaction.
A state of peaceful happiness and satisfaction as the word content means, can help boost someone's emotional understanding. Let's shade a little light on this aspect for a while. If the topic of contentment is wide taught in schools and our homes the way it should, I believe there will be a lesser number of young and old people who would wish to change themselves from being male to female and from female to male without fulfilling the true purpose which God has in mind before putting them in nature.
Over the years God in his infinite mercy has been overseeing the affairs of men and has placed many things in nature. He also allowed us the power to make choices, the human population has been well preserved because of the choices of men and as well as God's intervention. We are yet to see the effects of the choices we make today on our future generations. We are seeing the increasing rate at which humans work against nature, talking about the rate of deforestation, discharging of harmful substances in water due to industrialization, the issue of ozone layer depletion which is on a high rate not to talk of increasing adoption of weapons of mass destruction and human transformation in the name of transgender. I don't mean to hurt anyone but truly as days pass by, we see how we humans work against nature at an increasingly alarming rate, even double what it was seventy years ago.

While we live our lives everyday hoping for the best, it is good that we learn to genuinely help ourselves by being content with who we are and what we have. Maybe by that we can be able to also have something positive to impact on other people's lives. If not, what do we have to give others when we are not even content with the major things we have in life.
My prayer is for God to see us through and to help encourage us to take on the right part to appreciate and to be satisfied with the beauty of the things he has put in nature.
