Last weekend I had the opportunity to travel to a remote location in a forest region very far away from my hometown. There were altogether six people that embarked on this journey, all we had in mind was to go and pay a visit to wildlife, to see the types of animals we only watch on television with our naked eyes.
Six hours into the journey, everything was going well. I had to put on my earbuds while listening to random songs to keep my mind calm.
I've heard many dangerous things about the place we were headed to. I've also seen videos and pictures of those who were attacked by wildlife in broad daylight. I can say I actually did my research very well but the more I think about those terrible stories I've heard the ones I've seen graphically, it gives me more adrenaline rush and thrill to be there at all cost.

Even though I set out on this journey I knew it could be of two things, either I go and have fun then come back safely or be amputated or even be among those whose stories were heard. Till now I can't even explain my driving force but all I know is I love challenging myself beyond what many people may consider normal. I have always loved skydiving, of course there is no fear in them when you jump off from the plane at great heights. The only little fear that sometimes creep into your mind is on how good your parachute is.
So on the way to the forest I heard more stories from my traveling partners that made my heart tremble. I ended up asking a lot more questions than I considered necessary before I started listening to music.
Actually I have always known the magic of listening to a soul calming song when the heart is full of turbulence and that's what I did until we arrived at our destination.
We entered another transport that conveyed till we got to where we were headed to. After doing all the necessary things. We had to retire to our different lodges to return by the time we agreed on. I had to sleep very well when I dropped down on my bed. I had a very sound sleep which I didn't want the ear buds to interrupt and had taken them off before finally closing my eyes. Later on the morning of the following day after our arrival, we entered the forest. There were a lot of beautiful creatures to behold. Sometimes we walk under tall trees and sometimes we walk under creepers that create dark shades over us. To be honest it feels peaceful there except the fear of being surprised by anything but we were not alone though it still doesn't make us feel 100% safe.
In the midst of all my worries I knew that listening to music will be the best thing for me to calm my nerves but the only thing that kept me from playing a song is to not block my ears with which I will hear with my earbuds so that I can be very alert to any sound in my surroundings.
Glory to God we didn't encounter any troubles until we entered a vehicle and started heading out to check out on other places. Everything went more smoothly than I imagined, even when our vehicles spoilt on the road but it was soon later repaired but in the midst of all the challenges within the ride I have my earbuds on rocking to Michael Jackson's song, beat it.

Song lyrics
Today, most of the things I've seen or witnessed in my journey always come alive in my mind whenever I start listening to beat it , especially when it comes up to my playlist. Once in a while it's good to travel but before setting out for a journey, never forget your earbuds or music player and make sure to select a good set of music and add it to your playlist. Music is one thing I know that is inspirational and can control moods and emotions. To me music is like a necessity.
I can't imagine a world without music. Soon there will be a music festival in my area and people are getting their dresses and costumes ready. It's gonna be hot.
In all we do may we never stop listening to music, even in the midst of sicknesses and worries turn on your favorite song. Music exists for a reason and deeper meditation can be achieved through music in absence of silence.
Thank you very much for stopping by to read my post.
