I'm not usually of a specific genre of songs, for me in particular they all sound great and even if I don't like the lyrics of some of them because they don't make sense, sometimes just because of their rhythm they make you want to stand up and dance.
I've always been a specific type of songs; those that make you stay listening to the lyrics and reflecting, as if I were in a car watching the horizon with his eyes lost while it rains, as if I were in the video clip and that happens to me with several of the songs of my favorite singer and songwriter, Ricardo Arjona.
Many of his songs are inspiring and lead you to think about you and life, the way he makes comparisons or which develops its lyrics is something that catches, perhaps it is because he is a philosopher as well as a singer. But today I want to talk to you about one of those songs, it is "Tiempo en una botella", an adaptation of a song in English.

Sung by him that, although it is not his lyrics, it is very nice, but nostalgic and shows us how subtle comparisons, but that are understood can be a great piece of music, and this one with its message of wanting to return to the past, we identify with it so it becomes inspiring.
For me personally it inspires me to reflect on the value of time and love, we go through life accelerated trapped looking at the cell phone screen and listening to this song makes me come back to reality. Inevitably it makes me think about the people that marked my life who are no longer there or who are still around. It makes me wonder where they are now, what they are doing or if they will remember me as I do.
And of course when I listen to the song I just think about how I wish I could stop time and relive those moments that were etched in my memory and are now only in my mind. I wish I could relive and hug, tell them how I feel, thank them for everything they gave me. I wish I could keep those "times in a bottle", and bring them out when I feel sad or something.

But I know that even if I want to, time cannot stop, nor can I go back. The past is past, and that what I have now is present and that is what matters. I know that life goes on, and that people change, leave, or stay. Keeping time in a bottle, as if I were a collector of ships in a bottle, is impossible and I can only do my best to avoid regrets.
This song by Ricardo Arjona inspires me not to waste time, but to take advantage of it in the best possible way. Not to stay stagnant and live on memories, but to create new ones and do it well. And although it is not always easy not to cling to the past, not to do so in order to allow myself to live new things and be happy with it.
