New afrobeat songs I have been putting on repeat.

I've been enjoying some new songs lately, and they’ve really resonated with me. I figured, why not share them here? These are songs I recently discovered, and I’ve just fallen in love with them.

The first one is Pano Tona by Kizz Daniel featuring Adekunle Gold. From the moment I saw Kizz Daniel announce it on his Instagram earlier this week, I knew I had to give it a listen. I’ve been a fan of Kizz Daniel from the very beginning, and there’s just something unique about his style that I can’t get enough of. He’s always bringing a fresh energy to his music, and this time was no different. From the first listen, I was hooked. The song is outstanding, and the lyrics carry a deep meaning that really hit me. Essentially, it speaks about resilience—about how people have tried to dim his light and stop his progress, but through his hard work and faith, he keeps shining. There's something so relatable about that message. We all face moments where it feels like the world is trying to hold us back, and to hear it expressed so beautifully in his music made the song even more impactful for me. And then there’s Adekunle Gold’s verse, which just took the song to another level. I didn’t expect anything less from him, of course. His tone and style blended perfectly with Kizz Daniel’s, and he added so much to the track. Honestly, I think he was the perfect choice for this collaboration. Together, they created a sound that’s both soothing and powerful—a song you can vibe to, yet it makes you think. I’ll probably have Pano Tona on my playlist for a while.

The second song I’ve been loving is Back to Back by Zerrdyl. I actually came across this one on TikTok before I heard the full song. People were using it as a soundtrack for their dance videos, and I was instantly drawn in by the beat. It’s one of those tracks that’s incredibly energetic and just makes you want to move. Interestingly, the song is by Zerrdyl, the younger brother of Shallipopi, another talented Nigerian artist. Now, this one isn’t necessarily deep in terms of lyrics—it doesn’t have much of a storyline, but that’s okay. Sometimes, you just want a song that’s all about vibe, rhythm, and fun, and Back to Back delivers exactly that. It’s fast-paced with a vibrant beat that gives it this infectious energy. I could listen to it all day and still feel hyped. It’s perfect for those moments when you just want to have fun without getting too wrapped up in heavy lyrics or deep meanings.

Last but definitely not least, there’s Awuke by Davido. When I saw that this was a Davido track, I knew it would be a banger—and I wasn’t wrong. Davido has a way of delivering every single time, and Awuke is no exception. The rhythm is smooth yet lively, and he kicks off the song with such confidence and style that you’re keeps you drawn in right from the start. What I especially loved about this song, was the addition of YG Marley’s voice. He sounded fantastic to me and really brought something fresh to the track. His verse complemented Davido’s style beautifully, and it’s always exciting to see Davido collaborate with new talent and bring out something exceptional. Awuke has actually become one of my go-to songs. It’s catchy, and there's something about the song that feels both modern and deeply rooted in Nigerian sounds, which I love. Davido’s been in the game for a while now, and he just keeps evolving and releasing music that’s refreshing and top-notch. This song is a perfect example of that.

These three songs have been on repeat for me lately, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Each one has something special—Pano Tona has that meaningful message and vibe to it, Back to Back is pure energy, and Awuke brings that signature Davido style I can’t resist.
