There's this song by Victor AD that was released last months, and it brought back a lot of childhood memories. I stumbled upon the song when he used it on the 30th of November to celebrate the main actor, Sam Dede, on his birthday. The song was inspired by the movie in which Sam Dede played a major role. In his post, Victor AD mentioned how he watched the movie at a neighbor's house back then because his family didn’t have a TV. He expressed his admiration for Ebube, the head of the Issakaba boys, who stood for justice no matter what.
This whole context is something I can deeply relate to because I was also among those who watched the movie at a neighbor's house since we didn’t have a TV. The movie was so captivating that even when it was played 100 times, there was no way we could miss watching it.
The Ebube in Issakaba
The Issakaba group is known for enforcing justice using their intelligence, physical strength, and spiritual power. The most visible aspect of their spiritual power was the way bullets could never penetrate their bodies due to what we call ODESHI, a native bulletproof charm. This native bulletproof is not worn like a vest; rather, it is spiritually injected into the body so that even a cutlass cannot cause harm.
Ebube, which is also the title of this song by Victor AD, is the leader of the Issakaba group. He is a man well respected because he was never swayed to go against the law, even when all his followers rebelled against him.
The video of the song has not yet been released, but a trailer has been made public. The trailer replicates the fighting and shooting scenes from the original movie, and the costumes align perfectly with the dressing patterns of the Issakaba group.

This song is a tribute to the Issakaba group most especially EBUBE, which was not just fictional but also existed in real life in the eastern part of Nigeria. However, their existence was short-lived due to political interference.
The song carries a gyration tone that can easily incite excitement, especially among those who enjoy action or are inclined towards trouble. Lol. Ever since the song was released, I’ve noticed many troublesome groups using it to hype themselves, often showcasing cutlasses and guns.

One thing Victor AD is known for in his songs is his exceptional use of lyrics. He loads his songs with meaningful words, a rare skill that stands out in the industry. Unfortunately, it’s disheartening that artists with fewer words in their songs tend to be more famous.

For instance, Victor AD references Warri, a city in Delta State, Nigeria, and boldly declares that “a man dies once, and a funeral cannot be done twice.” These kinds of words naturally fuel courage and determination, especially for someone ready to go into battle.
