Today is the 1st of December and I'm grateful to God, it started with the first day being Sunday. Really I've always known that this new month will be very favorable to everyone and it is the last month of the year which will now usher us further to January of 2025. This is beautiful, have you thought of it? I love the way it sounds and the feeling I get knowing there is a year soon to come and it's 2025 and I know that by God's grace that progress and upliftment awaits for me on that year. I also thank God for his divine blessings upon my life as I listen songs of praises describing and listing out the blessings of God. Truly many people have died from the beginning of this year January. This year the first issue of death known world wide was the news outbreak of an earthquake on 1st January 2024 this year, which claimed a lot of people's lives and destroyed their properties.

The truth is that if things were to be checked properly. I'm not better than them that has lost their lives in that earthquake. It was not because of their recklessness.
Some may have been in their homes on that faithful day jubilating and celebrating the new year. Some may be in the bar drinking, some may be in the hotel room doing one thing or another with the joy and energy that comes with the new year alive in them before the earthquake happened.
What of those who may have left their precious homes to travel to that location to spend the new year period with their grandparents or uncles or aunty many lost their lives. It's really a very sad and heartbreaking thing when we start reflecting on a lot of possible things that must have been what fueled the passion of those who were unapologetically killed by the earthquake of January 1, 2024 and since then I know that many more people have died even from that January till now.
Some died of cancer, some died of accidents, some died from their mistakes while some died from their sleep. There are many things that can kill a man within the space of January till this December. I remember when I used to watch a TV show of a thousand ways to day and it really inspired me to know that in this world death can come by any means and at anytime and even in a way we don't expect it. Apart from death m, there is also the issue of sicknesses, many have passed on to eternity from their sickness. I remember just last month October, my cousin sister had applied to learn how to bake cake but not only that, she wanted to learn the art behind its designs and decorations. She applied in a place where she can learn to build masterpiece structures with cakes but guess what, it was just remaining few days to the week when the agreement between her and the owner of the training institute will be signed. The news came that the fine woman who is the owner of that institute has died after 2 days of sickness.
I later saw her picture, a rich young looking nourished woman going down to the dust 6 feet beneath the ground. From my sister I learnt she was a good woman but I've never met her in person. What if she's the type that avoids people touching them with the feeling that her garment will be dirtied by people of low class? Regardless, no matter what. A time comes when a man's flesh will enter deep down inside the ground not even on the surface and will be eaten on by insects and even the maggot we dislike to see in rotten foods and dead animals. Sometimes you hear people say, do you know who I am while quarreling with their fellow human being.
I don't know what you think of your existence and how you see life but I know that the word of God is true for when the soul leaves the body, the body remains useless and goes back to the dust, while the soul goes before God to face judgment even the person's earthly possessions will not be buried with him.
Man leaves everything behind in death, even the money he so much struggled to get in as much as I feel the need to embrace God the more in this season and read the bible to understand more about life and spiritual things, I also know that this moment is the best moment to say God I thank you for my life and the life of members of my family.
A few weeks ago I went to the hospital, not because I was sick but because I want to encourage the patients there. I saw people of different age and different sizes, each one with one sickness or another. I also saw a young man whose belly has a plaster on it because he has undergone and operation on his stomach. I was opportuned to speak to him an encouraged him, I can't imagine the pains he will be going through but I know he will be alright.
Some their legs are hung up for years, you don't kiwhats happening in the world around you because you go from home to your office. Try and visit the emergency ward of any hospital close to you. Its like every 30 minutes if not lesser, one with a critical situation will be rushed in. I've also seen one with white bandage all over his body only his eyes were visible and in pains groaning, you can imagine the sight of such a person on a bed. Yet many of us who has not been fed through pipes on the nose will mock God and curse on God for not giving us money, for no child and for other things our hearts think of. I've seen a cctv footage of a careful driver who was driving carefully on the road, not too fast and maintaining his lane but then a big container truck rushed from behind, hit and disfigured their vehicle to the extent they may not survive it.
It's amazing how things can change in a twinkle of an eye, just within a second joy can turn to sorrow. I don't know what's eating anyone's heart up from praising God in this new month of December but I'm over joyed even though I may have lost one of my brothers when I was little, but I'm grateful to God that every member of my family today is safe and also for the fact that covid-19 stopped and didn't finish the world with its rapid spread.
It's been years now but the events that unfolded before my eyes then on the streets and hospitals are still very much alive in my head.

My prayer is that God's Blessings will keep following us and that though we may be weak sometimes and may not have a strong encounter to believe in him, may his grace and mercies never elude us as we are now a few weeks away from celebrating the birth of his son Jesus Christ who also is one of the greatest gifts to the world and the biggest celebrity of all time and ages. May we live long and may our families travel safely to the destinations where we wish to stay and celebrate in this season.
