Today is such a beautiful day in my area unlike yesterday when rainfall limited my movement. I would have really loved to visit my cousin sister who was to celebrate her birthday in an open field before the heavy rainfall came that actually destroyed many things. The birthday party was planned to be one of a kind filled with fun and different activities and I believe that is possibly why my cousin sister chose to celebrate it in an open field.
Though the field was very neat and lovely but no one expected such a heavy rain to come so unexpectedly, before they could even get to the big canopy to shelter for a while the wind had already blown the canopy away throwing it to the side.
Many run to shelter themselves while a few went after the canopy to save it from being further blown down from the green little hill top. At first I thought my sister was the one who made the choice of the location but was shocked to know an event planner was paid for the ceremony and had done it all.
What really fascinated me was how the event planner could make such a choice of the location without a plan B and my sister agreed to it.
From the report of some of my siblings who graced the occasion, the size of the canopy that was provided wasn't even enough for the number of visitors that came not to talk of friends and relatives.
Secondly, there is no available building that is closeby anymore would have run into to take shelter. I can't imagine how my sister would have agreed to such choice of a place knowing fully we'll about the weather conditions. What even broke my heart the most is how the cake was beaten by the rain as the canopy failed to withstand the wind. There was no way to save the cake as it looks big and beautiful without breaking it up. Those who were concerned kept trying to set up the canopy at least to shield the cake from the rain while others made a run to reach the far end of the open field where there is only a little building made for the security personnels.
Well, after everything that has happened I learnt a few important lessons which includes having a plan B always and if possible even a plan C because three could be a sudden change of event at any given time and it is only those who are prepared just like the five wise virgins in the bible can be ready to make any event turn to their favor.
While making plans for fun, celebration and our vacation we should also make sure to go to places where we can easily asses one of the three basic amenities of man. Even if food or cloth but at least shelter.
