Thank God itΒ΄s #NinetiesFriday!
Already?
Yes and let's get this one over with!
We will probably all do an Xmass-themed #NinetiesFriday but who gives a carol?
Christmas in the Nineties
The Nineties marked the Birth of the Savior.
Yes of course I mean the savior of Christmas.
If it wasnΒ΄t for her, Christmas would not be what it is nowadays.
Now is that not a lovely woke gesture?
Two thousand years ago they sent a boy to start Christmas and in the nineties a girl to save Christmas.
Ladies and more Ladies, and well if there are gents that like this tune I welcome you to meet that savior of Christmas as we know it today.
Yeah, I know yΒ΄all saw that coming didn't you?
How about this one?
That is more my kind of Christmas.
And yes this was early 00s but come one....itΒ΄s close enough and a true classic.
And I wish every Christmas Party I ever visited played this fine-tasting tune!
Now this next one will be my segway to great Christmas movies and let me start with the Greatest of All Time.... also made in the Nineties.
The Nightmare Before Christmas
The nineties; when Disney was still feeling like Walt Disney and not Woke Disney.
Can you imagine Disney creating a masterpiece like this in the present?
What was the last Disney masterpiece you actually remember?
I don't want to call it out as itΒ΄s been done before but their biggest hits lately seem to be diverse and inclusive remakes of the gems of old. Where few to none even come close to the original.
Anyway, itΒ΄s almost Xmass enough woke bashing for now....
The Best Disney Β΄90s XMass Movie(s)
My favorite is of course:
Okay, okay I do not hate Christmas as some do, as long as we do it in style...Dickens style that is....and who did that better in the Nineties than Sir C Dickens?
Were there any other great Christmas movies made in the Nineties?
Is he really gonna call it out???
No, he is not, if I would add Home Alone and Mariah I would get a Ban for Life from the elite group of people with actual taste.
So instead let me call out one of the worst big Xmas movies of the Nineties.
To make it up, a little lesser-known Christmas Gem in my book, but I loved this guy ever since he did Beetlejuice.
Β΄90s Christmas Menu
Before anything Christmas is about food, and a huge table with an even bigger menu.
In my Nineties, before anything would hit the table people would be drinking and smoking, inside, surrounded by hyperactive children.
And there would be something on the table....
Merci:
Those nineties, so diverse, so inclusive, so wonderful and peaceful, so much chocolate during Christmas.
If you did not have Merci you must have had these Christmessy balls by Ferrero Rocher:
More Balls!!!
Cheese Balls!
NOOO!
Real Christmas cheese balls, like these:
Shrimp Cocktail
My Christmas Favorite, my mom pealed those mofos herself because those home pealed little buggers are the tastiest. There was always more to come, but sometimes this dish could not get beat by the main one.
Turkey Mashed Potatoes and Gravy
Now I am not sure if in the US they eat Turkey on both Thanksgiving and Xmas but ever since Europe got liberated after the 2nd World War Turkey has slowly invaded the European Christmas tables.
And if that was not enough chocolate for one day.....
There was always the hottest thing in town....
Chocolate Fondue:
Some Things never Change, or do they
Thank God for no longer being stuck in the 90s....when it come to shopping.
I had to do some last-minute shopping, or any shopping in the past. But now I just message SantaΒ΄s Elves at Amazon and they do all the work for me.
If three is a crowd how about overcrowded malls?
Happy Jolly Malls Packed With People
Guess this guy would have loved to have him some Amazon
The Ghost Of Christmas Past
What did make those nineties so Special, I mean nobody really believed in Santa Claus as a kid right?
Although nowadays itΒ΄s even more obvious:
Maybe that little bit of doubt, because we were without the internet, increased the magic. Well, that and this of course:
A real Nineties Christmas looked like This
Even in the Nineties, we could be nostalgic for Christmas Past:
I am not going to say sorry for being Dutch, but I want to see some of my memories in this post as well.
This is how those cheap bastards The Netherlands celebrated Christmas past...
Holy Balls, that was a packed post, and I had to skip several courses because there was a little more there. But hey need to keep some stuff for next year?
If there is a next year???
Better enjoy this one, better enjoy this day, this week and Carpe Diem!
Talking about one of my all-time favorite Nineties movies, damn what an eye-opener!
#NinetiesFriday was brought to you by My Nineties Christmas Rant

LetΒ΄s do one more for Christmas's sake
WTF do I do on #NinetiesFriday?
Well, don't do what I do because that would be copy/pasta!
But some ideas are music, movies, television, sports, or really anything Nineties related.
I assume movie, TV, or music topic reviews or talk will be most common, but you could also talk about a sports memory or something else.
Thank Goodness you made it till the end Pees, Love and I am out of here!
