Today I have two different planthoppers that have a very different coloration. But I found both to be relatively close to one another.
The first planthopper that is have is Acanalonia conica is a species of planthopper in the family Acanaloniidae. It is found in North America and Europe, although what I photograph here and the photo that Wikipedia has a little bit different.
as you can see in the photos below and above, the eyes of this plant hopper is white, but those that appear in Wikipedia seem to have red eyes. the body is almost the same, despite the one that I have here seems to have a white substance all over the body.
And then next I have what seems to be Scolypopa australis, commonly known as the passionvine hopper, is a species of insect in the Ricaniidae family of planthoppers (Fulgoroidea) that is native to Australia and was introduced to New Zealand., although it is interesting that I found this little guy here in Bali.
I am so happy that I can get a few photos of this planthopper from the front, because it will quickly turn around as soon as put my lens in front of it, to try to photograph it.
