It's time for an update on how things are going with DUO! There's been a lot happening, so let's dive in and see the status of the project!
Note: There is a proposal at the very bottom concerning curation, so please take the time to read it and prove input in the comments.
HP Growth
We opened up sales to early adopters. Right now we're sitting at 6,326 HP! That is amazing considering we're not even done with the month!
Everything has been powered up to this point. We'll be staking all Hive-Engine tokens earned through July to create a baseline for curation. After that, 90% of all tokens, HBD, etc., will be sold off and paid out as dividends. Only 10% will be staked or powered up in order to grow the project.
Right now, nothing has been delegated to the HOC account while we're still growing the project. We didn't set an exact timeline for this, but we will announce this change once it's effective.
Dividends and Tipping
Just as a reminder, you must stake 200 DUO to receive dividends and be eligible for post curation. The tipping requirements are as follows:
500 staked tips 0.1 (1x/day)
1k staked tips 0.2 (1x/day)
5k staked tips 0.3 (1x/day)
10k staked tips 0.5 (2x/day)

Right now, DUO is being sold for 0.5 Hive each for early adopters. Of the 20,000 available around 12,676 have been sold. We've sold over 50% of the first tranche!
The next tranche of 40,000 DUO will be sold for 1 Hive each, so get in early while there's still time!

Curation Proposal Going Forward
As you all know, we initially started with 100% upvote weight for those staking 200 or more DUO. I (bulliontools), @bitcoinman and @thebighigg remain committed to receive 50% of the vote weight as everyone else.
As more early adopters have bought into the project, we've had to reduce the voting weight percentage to keep the mana sustainable at 80% or higher, and still provide substantial votes to those staking 200 or more DUO. The voting weight is currently at 70% for everyone except the three founders of DUO, which sits at 35% respectively. Even then, it's a challenge to give the mana enough time to recover.
In order to better serve DUO stakers with curation of their posts so that it's not just a small handful of people getting curated, we're submitting a proposal for everyone. We're proposing to shift to a tiered curation weight based on the amount of staked DUO a person has. Keep in mind that as more people buy into the project, the value of the vote will continue to grow, even if you remain in the same tier. Here are the proposed tiers.
200 DUO staked - 20% vote weight
500 DUO staked - 40% vote weight
1000 DUO staked - 80% vote weight
The goal here is twofold: to maintain the mana while curating as many stakers as realistically possible, and also encouraging people to grow their stake to reach higher tiers.
Naturally, as the project's HP grows, these tiers would be reevaluated. I foresee more tiers being added in the future, as stakes continue to grow and the need arises to add more tiers. The commitment to 200 DUO staked minimum to be curated will remain. The vote percentage may shift and higher tiers added, but that will remain the minimum.
