La 5ª Estación has a smooth sound, my Spanish, is more Spanglish but music has some transcendent properities.

My favorite Spanish language band is probably Bomba Estereo. I'm not a huge pop fan but one of my neighbours played one of their songs about a decade ago while we kicked back drinking micheladas, and it's stuck with me.

What's the difference between a well-dressed man and a tired dog?
The man wears an entire suit, the dog just pants.

Nice! La 5ª Estación isn't around anymore, their lead singer Natalia Jimenez is a solo artist now. She has an amazing voice though.

Are you a Spanish speaker?

Barely. When we lived on the Big Island of Hawaii my neighbor and best friend was a Mexican who has become a naturalized citizen. His written English wasn't great so I would help him filling out forms, taxes and such. After he's get off work he'd come knock on my door to drink a michelada, and we'd converse and kick back "descansada" and speak to each other with a mixture of broken English and broken Spanish - "Spanglish". I'm not even close to being conversant though.

I learned by immersion when I was still in my late teens, moved to Chile as a ski instructor. It was a lot of fun, but hell, when your young most everything new and exotic is fun!

You had some tropical living too? I lived in Puerto Rico for years! Nice of you to help him out though, writing in a second language can be tough!
