Hello Music Lovers..
It's another beautiful Tuesday and it's time to share great tunes here on Hive for the #ttt initiated by @ablaze.
All my life I've watched how people downplay the emotion of a man, like all he's meant to do is care for others and not needing care too.
He's not expected to get tired, breakdown, experience burnout, or even cry when things get tough for him. I see people saying "Be a man." "Men do not cry" and so on.
I realized that Men do not get appreciated often like women. I know a woman goes through a lot and that's why she needs to be celebrated but the men are humans too.
He craves peace of mind more than anything because he's fighting a lot of silent battles.
A lot of "responsible" men leave their home so early to fend for their family, still they put other people's happiness ahead of theirs ensuring everyone around their corner are doing okay.
Even when they are downcast, the world make them feel they are weaklings and pressure them to toughen up. Their emotions are often trivalized, invalidated, minimized or even dismissed. So they chin up, hide their emotion and try to go on.
Since today is the International Men's Day, I thought of sharing three tunes to appreciate the Men in my life and any responsible man out there.
If I Ain't Got You- Alicia Keys
Y'all are amazing. I celebrate your selflessness, your ability to stay strong even though it hurts.
If I ain't got you, I got nothing at all. You are a spice to life. Your courage and strength is very admirable.
I know you need more attention more than what you're getting now. Honestly, most of you go through a lot and still everyone demands something from you. When last did someone truly asked how you were faring? Do you even have a true shoulder to lean on, where you can be babied and pampered because behind the tough skin lies a soul needing care, love and words of encouragement.
If I can get you the moon, I surely would have given it to you. You men can lay down your life for the one you love. You men can go to bed on an empty stomach to ensure you send something to Mama. You men are wonderful. Words aren't even enough to describe how special you are.
I recall on the last International Women's day, a lot of people shared pictures of how some women meant the world to them and often time this doesn't happen on international men's day. You guys rock!! I know you do not get celebrated often despite your ability to stay resilient. Please take your flowers!!
It's okay not to be okay, your feeling matter and you matter too. Don't give up on this journey called life. We love and appreciate all you do for us.
I'm also aware you have insecurites too and deep-seated fears. They matter and guess what? We are ready to love you unconditionally.
On behalf of the world,I am saying thank you for staying strong and being you.
Thank you for being responsible and adding value to our lives. You deserve the best too. I see fathers, brothers, lovers, and genuine friends trying to be the best version of themselves everyday and I appreciate the effort. I hope this makes you feel seen, heard and appreciated.
Thanks for coming around my blog. See you on my next edition of #ttt.
