It's been a while since I said hello to you, hello dear music lovers wherever you are! How are you doing? I hope you are all doing amazing! I feel like I miss this even though I haven't written for a few days, my hands feel itchy to write about music. I'm very excited because I will invite you to listen to a music recommendation from me.
Pay attention for you rock music lovers, you have to notice this!! Please don't miss the point! This time, I'm bringing you a little flashback to 20 years ago, there was a film called School of Rock!! How? Do you know that movie? Or have you watched it and forgotten? It's a sad to forget this movie because this is too good and interesting to forget!! This movie is also for all groups, both children and adults will enjoy it.
Just from the name, School of Rock, you must have an idea about a school that teaches rock music, wow, it's really cool and definitely interesting. If only there was a real rock school, maybe I would go to that school! Do you also have the same thought with me?
This song by The Ramones is very good and very rock and roll, I really like this. It sounds fun and the rhythm of the music is cool. From the film School of Rock I came to know a little more about the image of old but golden rock and roll music in the west.
This is the main song by the band School of Rock which is also played at the band festival in the film at the end of the story. Their performance was really cool and mindblowing. In every musical skill they are very commendable and at their young age, they have extraordinary talent!! There is no doubt that Jack Black's guitar playing and vocals are also cool and ageless!
From the film starring Jack Black, of course this film is a drama and there is a comedy. So, this is not boring because it is funny. Jack Black's character as an elementary school music teacher is very suitable so it can bring the audience into the film and make laugh to see his behavior in that film too. Who wouldn't laugh at the acts of a big and funny teacher teaching rock music? There's no doubt about his voice and guitar playing, he's really cool. He looks like a comedy person but when he plays rock music, he can be really cool man!!
A little synopsis about the film School of Rock, becoming a teacher for some people is not an easy matter. No exception for Dewey Finn, an idealistic rocker who was expelled from his own group. Dewey Finn is challenged to adapt from a sloppy rocker to an elementary school teacher.
The song entitled "It's a Long Way to the Top" by AC/DC is my favorite apart from the main song. This song is covered by the band School of Rock at the end of the film and each child plays their own music showing their skills on guitar, keyboard and drums. They are so cool! The drummer is my fave one!!
Sadly, lately I heard the sad news that the drummer had passed away and he was still young, I was very sad to hear that news :(
Dewey Finn, played by Jack Black, is a vocalist and guitarist for a band who usually performs from cafe to cafe. Finn had to accept the fact of being expelled from his own group because his idealism in music was not accepted by his colleagues or could be said to be different from his friends in the band. Like it or not, he is unemployed and doesn't have any work even though he has to pay for the apartment and so on. Then he accidentally received a call from a private elementary school. The call was to Ned Schneebly, Dewey's roommate, who was applying to be a substitute teacher at the school. Tempted by the salary as a substitute teacher, Dewey pretended to be Ned Schneebly and declared himself ready to teach.
What made Dewey enthusiastic about teaching was his intention to participate in a band festival in the local town. Dewey made his students become members and crew members of the band that Dewey formed. Of course, this was done secretly without the knowledge of the school principal and the students' parents.
In his interactions with the students for the band festival project, Dewey seemed skilled at playing his role as a teacher. Dewey was able to explore his students' potential in music which had previously been underappreciated. He overheard his students taking a classical music class. Then he got the idea to teach them and change classical music to rock. He succeeded in forming a band consisting of a drummer, guitarist, bassist, keyboardist and background singers. He himself acts as the main vocalist.
Not only band members, Dewey is also skilled at exploring the potential of other students as band crew. He entrusts his students to handle various things, such as costumes, stage visual effects, security teams, band merchandise, even the name of the band.
Dewey's understanding of music was very strong. In one scene, Dewey gives the class an assignment to watch clips of famous rock musicians that he shares. He also provides material on the history of rock music so that his students know more or less about what rock music is and how it is done. He told each student which song the student should pay more attention to. Dewey is depicted giving material on the history of rock music and accompanied by snippets of songs by The Ramones.
As a musician, Dewey's idealism was expressed in this group he formed. He instilled the idealism about music that his colleagues had previously rejected while playing in a band in simple language and an entertaining way that his elementary school age students could understand. The role as a motivator was very prominent in Dewey's capacity as a teacher. Zach, the student who was chosen as a guitarist, was initially less enthusiastic about performing because his parents forbade him from playing the guitar at home. With his distinctive style, Dewey was able to motivate Zach, even to the point that Zach had a talent for writing songs which Dewey then chose to play at the band festival.
There is also a keyboardist who is described as "bookish" or “nerd” student and lack confidence in appearing in public. However, because Dewey motivated him and instilled the mindset that if he played rock music, he would be cool and not look nerdy at all. Then, there was also a kid who was actually smart and intelligent in the class who was also the class president, he was made by Dewey as band manager and the kid really liked that position.
No less interesting was when Dewey motivated one of his background singers who, before the audition, suddenly had no confidence because of weight problems. Dewey gave examples of several singers and also himself who was overweight, but had self-confidence. Weight issues are not the main thing to pay attention to, but good voice and performance on stage are the most important.
I think that's all the recommendations for songs from the soundtrack of the film School of Rock which are really cool and extraordinary, just don't miss it. What do you think? Hope you like and enjoy it. Thank you to everyone who always supports me and I hope you are always healthy and enjoy music wherever you are! ^^
