Hello Hivers and music lovers!
I hope you all had a happy Tuesday. Mine it's been busy, but I've been able to sort out a few things in the offline world, so it's been very productive. But the day hasn't ended yet, and it's still Tuesday in this part of the world, and Tuesdays are for sharing and discovering music on Hive. And all thanks to #threetunetuesday or #ttt hosted by @ablaze.
And what is it the #ttt about? In the words of Ablaze:
The jist is as follows
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #ttt or #threetunetuesday tags that would be great. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize - more on that later.
You can find out more at ablaze's post for this Tuesday with his recommendations for this week, the #59.
I owed this recommendation to @ablaze since some #ttt in which I recommended a song by the Franco-Spanish singer Manu Chao. He told me he likes him, and we talked about that could be cool a #ttt only about Manu Chao.
And here it is. But I will focus my main recommendations on the beginnings of this singer when he was the leader of the french band Mano Negra.
Mano Negra was a band formed in the late 80s. Manu Chao was the leader, and his brother was among the members. They were well known in some European countries and Latin America. Their music mixed punk rock, Latin and African rhythms, ska, reggae, and French pop. They broke up in the early 90s, and after that, Manu Chao pursued a successful solo career.
Mano Negra's music as well as Manu Chao's solo career was always characterized by multiculturalism. Tracks in Spanish, French, English, and Portuguese. It was one of the bands I loved to listen to in the 90s. And after their breakup, I kept listening to Manu Chao.
The video clips of his songs are also worth watching.
So without much more to add, I leave you with today's three tunes from Mano Negra and a bonus tune as it has become usual on my #ttt recommendations, of Manu Chao as a soloist.
Tune No.1 - Mala Vida - Mano Negra
This song is one of my favourites of Mano Negra. It was included in their debut album titled Patchanka.
Tune No.2 - El Senor Matanza - Mano Negra
This song, included in the album of the same name, was controversial at the time because the lyrics are a sort of condemnation of the abuse of power suffered by many Latin American societies. And it is a theme that certainly does not only apply to Latin American countries.
Tune No.3 - Pas Assez de Toi - Mano Negra
This song is in French and is part of the repertoire of the album entitled Puta's Fever.
Bonus tune - Me Llaman Calle - Manu Chao
There are many songs that I like about Manu Chao as a soloist. But I choose to share this one since it is one of my son's favourites of Manu Chao. This song's rhythm with its flamenco touches is very catchy.
This is all for today.
Thank you very much for reading!
Enjoy the music, enjoy life!
