Once again sharing with you in this nice and attractive initiative that takes us to remember songs that marked such an important trend that have left a great legacy in the history of music. Or at least this is my case. Here I will try together with you to remember some songs that were important for me and no doubt for many others more. I'm still trying to adapt to this #tttt but I think I'm on the right track.
Last week I shared with you some female voices that I consider legendary and influential in music. Don't get me wrong, of course those voices have nothing to do with some current trends like, for example: with a Karol G or some other of this cruel female generation. Of course there are also voices of this generation that escape from the vulgarity of the industrial circus of today's music. Voices like Adele, for example, who sounds amazing every time and who is undoubtedly already part of history.
Today we will not talk about some music queens but we are going to mention some songs from the 80s and 90s with a genre that in those years had a very good world ranking. There was a massive movement on the part of the young people of that time and among those young people was me. Rock guided me to become the musician I am today and although it may not seem so because of my songs, I prefer to listen to this genre a thousand times more than any other. In those years, besides the existence of a great movement, it made many young people interested in music. Today that you are interested in singing like Bad Bunny is a disgrace to music, your family and the world. But I don't want to talk too much about these current scandalous genres, rather I want to remember with you these three songs of bands that even after almost a decade are still a great source of inspiration for the new generation of rock.
Let's start with one of the hundreds of rock anthems and I'm not talking about, for example: We Will Rock You - Queen or Satisfaction by The Rolling Stones. I will tell you about my experience with We're Not Gonna Take it, one of the most emblematic songs of the band Twisted Sister. When I heard this song for the first time I was about 17 years old and I was surprised by the rhythm and attitude of the genre, the vocalist, the music. The funny thing is that I didn't know any English, well I don't know much now, I think the same thing ha ha ha.... Not to laugh, I should study it, but anyway, years later out of curiosity I looked for the song with subtitles and it was there that I began to understand the song much more but the amazing thing is that what I managed to perceive of the song even without understanding anything of what the singer said, managed to convey the same message in me. And when I listened to that song it was not an act of rebellion, it was more like a cry for freedom. Practically in each verse you can interpret that idea, the idea of repelling that which does not represent us. Let's listen.
A little further on we have a band that arrived at the exact moment in history with a spectacular album Nevermind was a big bomb that swept much of the world Nirvana was born in those times where there was a movement that was called Generation X which was formed by a group of young people disappointed by the lack of opportunities were represented by the anguish, anger, pain. Bands like Pearl Jam or Soundgarden were part of that generation and were already changing things by showing a bit of rebellion in their songs, but there is no doubt that Nirvana elevated all that to the maximum exponent. One of their songs that overflowed with rebelliousness is Smells Like Teen Spirit. Let's listen to
We close this tour with one of the most legendary and with a story that if I start to throw it out I will never finish. This song was an anthem in the rock events that took place in the city. I still remember everyone shouting the chorus of the song as a whole, it was a single shout for hundreds of people. It was a lot of adrenaline that was felt at the event with just the first few seconds. I imagine that since most of us were students, we felt the pain that the song expressed more closely. Tremendous work of the legendary band Pink Floyd.
