Está banda me ha acompañado desde hace muchísimos años y la razón principal por la que conozco actualmente más bandas de su género y otros géneros más que se unieron a lo que son mis gustos musicales. Para darles un poco de contexto a aquellos que no conozcan tanto a esta banda, Arctic Monkeys es una banda británica de género Indie Rock que fue fundada en el año 2002 y la conforma sus miembros Alex Turner quien es el guitarrista principal, toca el piano y es el vocalista principal, luego está el segundo guitarrista, igualmente toca el piano y participa en los coros Jamie Cook, continuamos con Nick O'Malley quien es bajista y participa igualmente en los coros y por último tenemos a Matt Helders quien es el baterista de la banda, participa en los coros y es el segundo vocalista de la banda.
Arctic Monkeys cuenta con 7 álbumes que los impulsaron a darse a conocer como banda, con más de 20 millones de copias vendidas se han convertido en una de las bandas de Indie Rock más exitosas de la historia y todo gracias al gran despliegue que tuvieron a través del internet por la gran difusión de sus discos. Su primer disco titulado"Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not" salió en el año 2006, luego salió el álbum "Favourite Worst Nightmare" en el año 2007, "Humbug" en el 2009, "Suck It and See" en el 2011, "AM" en el año 2013, "Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino" en el año 2018 y por último el álbum "The Car" el cual salió en el año 2022. La banda tuvo un descanso en el periodo del 2013 al 2018 en el cual estuvieron realizando giras y conciertos por el álbum "AM" y al terminarlas decidieron tomarse un tiempo para poder preparar su siguiente propuesta musical la cual fue un gran impacto dentro de sus fans por el cambio de estilo musical que tuvieron el cual fue pasar del Pop Rock al Glam/Rock psicodelico con algunos elementos del Jazz.

The band had a break in the period from 2013 to 2018 in which they were doing tours and concerts for the album "AM" and when they finished them they decided to take some time to prepare their next musical proposal which was a great impact within their fans for the change of musical style they had which was to go from Pop Rock to Glam/Psychedelic Rock with some elements of Jazz.
Una de los momentos en la historia de la música que nunca olvidaré fue cuando ellos estrenaron su mítica e icónica canción "Do I Wanna Know" por allá por el 2013 ya que en esos años a parte de que yo era pequeña mi hermana se encargó de mostrarmela y desde ese momento quedé completamente enamorada de esta banda, recuerdo que incluso fue tanto el éxito de la canción que existían algunas propagandas en la televisión que usaban la canción para promocionar un perfume, fue un gran año para el estilo Indie ya que en ese tiempo había todo tipo de grupos de ese género creando toda una nueva generación de amantes de la música alternativa. Recuerdo que nunca había escuchado un estilo de música como la de aquella canción y quedé completamente hechizada por las melodías y sobretodo por los sonidos reales de los instrumentos, que con esto me refiero al hecho de que la banda participa conjuntamente en tocar cada uno de sus instrumentos y la calidad de esto al escuchar sus canciones, sin duda fue un choque cultural ya que yo venía de un estilo musical que era de grupos como One Direction y de cantantes como Madonna.
Mi fascinación por esta banda solo creció y creció a medida que fui escuchando más canciones de ese mismo álbum como lo fueron "Why'd you only call me when you're high?" Y "Snap Out Of It" las cuales no solo me cautivaron por su ritmos y sonidos sino por sus videos musicales, los cuales combinaban elementos que tomaban de las letras de sus canciones, teniendo estos toques extraños y visualmente llamativos. Poco a poco fui dándole una buena probada a cada una de las canciones del álbum y este se convirtió en uno de mis álbumes favoritos del momento pero poco a poco comenzaría a descubrir más sobre la banda, su historia y sus otros álbumes.
One of the moments in the history of music that I will never forget was when they released their mythical and iconic song "Do I Wanna Know" back in 2013 because in those years, besides the fact that I was a little girl, my sister was in charge of showing it to me and from that moment on I was completely in love with this band, I remember that even the success of the song was so big that there were some commercials on TV that used the song to promote a perfume, it was a great year for the Indie style because at that time there were all kinds of groups of that genre creating a whole new generation of alternative music lovers. I remember that I had never heard a style of music like that song and I was completely enchanted by the melodies and above all by the real sounds of the instruments, by this I mean the fact that the band participates together in playing each of their instruments and the quality of this when listening to their songs, it was certainly a culture shock as I came from a musical style that was of groups like One Direction and singers like Madonna.
My fascination for this band only grew and grew as I listened to more songs from that same album such as "Why'd you only call me when you're high?" and "Snap Out Of It" which not only captivated me for their rhythms and sounds but also for their music videos, which combined elements taken from the lyrics of their songs, having these strange and visually striking touches. Little by little I was giving a good taste to each of the songs of the album and this became one of my favorite albums of the moment but little by little I would begin to discover more about the band, their history and their other albums.
SNAP OUT OF IT BY ARCTIC MONKEYS
Snap Out Of It fue la segunda canción que escuche de Arctic Monkeys y la cual tiene un espacio especial en mi corazón desde ese momento, esta canción se caracteriza por tener un gran despliegue de metáforas en cuanto a una relación fallida en donde nuestro cantante comienza a hablar con la chica que recientemente terminó, en ello podemos ver su ganas de hacer que ella pueda por fin "abrir los ojos" y ver todo lo que perdió y esto se refleja en el vídeo musical ya que vemos a la chica recordando fragmentos de esa relación y como poco a poco se va desmoronando extrañando y añorando a aquel amor, de igual forma no solo muestra esto sino que también la canción busca hacer que la persona se deshaga cualquier estado o emoción en el que se encuentre y darse cuenta del potencial que tiene para vivir su mejor vida y el cantante no solo usa la metáfora de "How could you be so blind?" Refiriéndose a qué está persona está en un constante estado de ceguera con respecto a una situación y que está esperando pacientemente a que finalmente pueda abrir los ojos y salir de ello.
Es una canción que trae en mi muchas emociones, me genera una inmensa felicidad pero a la vez me genera tristeza y un poco de nostalgia, en parte nostalgia por recordar los tiempos en los que estaba cuando la escuché por primera vez y a su vez porque la asoció con muchas situaciones de mi vida en donde a veces me gana la añoranza y se me hace imposible escapar y ver hacia adelante. Es una canción bastante emotiva y eso se nota constantemente en la forma en la que Alex va graduando su voz, haciendo que a veces se sienta severa y a veces como un suave susurro, sin duda es una canción que siempre que la escucho revive muchas emociones en mi y que sin importar en que situación éste me hará o llorar o bailar.
Snap Out Of It was the second song I heard from Arctic Monkeys and which has a special place in my heart since that moment, this song is characterized by having a great display of metaphors regarding a failed relationship where our singer begins to talk to the girl who recently ended, in it we can see his desire to make her finally "open her eyes" and see everything she lost and this is reflected in the music video as we see the girl remembering fragments of that relationship and how little by little she is falling apart missing and longing for that love, in the same way not only shows this but also the song seeks to make the person undo any state or emotion in which he is and realize the potential he has to live her best life and the singer not only uses the metaphor of "How could you be so blind?"referring to the fact that this person is in a constant state of blindness with respect to a situation and is patiently waiting for her to finally open her eyes and come out of it.
It is a song that brings me many emotions, it generates immense happiness but at the same time it generates sadness and a bit of nostalgia, partly nostalgia for remembering the times I was in when I heard it for the first time and at the same time because I associate it with many situations in my life where sometimes I feel homesick and it is impossible to escape and look ahead. It's quite an emotional song and you can constantly notice that in the way Alex graduates his voice, making it feel at times stern and at times like a soft whisper, without a doubt it is a song that whenever I listen to it revives many emotions in me and no matter what situation it is in it will make me either cry or dance.
Actualmente puedo decir que mis álbumes favoritos son AM, Favourite Worst Nightmare y Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, los cuales reflejan en mi opinión las tres eras por las cuales ha pasado la banda las cuales son el estilo Post-Punk, el Rock Indie y el Glam Rock los cuales curiosamente no se separan de el estilo que tenían al inicio de la banda y con esto demuestran más que todo una evolución de ellos, mostrando como la banda ha tenido un crecimiento y un desarrollo no solo en cuestiones de edad sino de conocimientos y descubrimientos, con nuevas experiencias y recuerdos y así es como buscan demostrarlo a través de su música. Está explicación también puede aplicarse a lo que me ocurrió a mi con mi estilo de música, desde un principio cuando era pequeña solo me guiaba por el pop y no salía de ese género como si tuviera miedo de experimentar algo más intenso y que no me gustara pero cuando descubrí a Arctic Monkeys fue que tomé la decisión de experimentar más los distintos géneros musicales que existen y gracias a ellos no solo disfruto de el rock y el metal sino que también disfruto de canciones clásicas, musicales e incluso algunas operas. Se puede decir que a pesar de que no estuve desde un inicio en los comienzos de la banda tuve un desarrollo como lo tuvieron ellos, fue casi que me guiaron de la mano para poder descubrir los magníficos géneros que existen dentro de la música.
Actually I can say that my favorite albums are AM, Favourite Worst Nightmare and Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, which reflect in my opinion the three eras through which the band has passed which are the Post-Punk style, Indie Rock and Glam Rock, Indie Rock and Glam Rock which curiously are not separated from the style they had at the beginning of the band and this shows more than anything an evolution of them, showing how the band has had a growth and development not only in terms of age but of knowledge and discoveries, with new experiences and memories and this is how they seek to demonstrate it through their music. This explanation can also be applied to what happened to me with my style of music, from the beginning when I was little I was only guided by pop and did not leave that genre as if I was afraid to experience something more intense and that I did not like but when I discovered Arctic Monkeys was that I made the decision to experience more the different musical genres that exist and thanks to them I not only enjoy rock and metal but also enjoy classical songs, musicals and even some operas. It can be said that even though I was not in the beginning of the band I had a development as they had, it was almost that they guided me by the hand to discover the magnificent genres that exist within music.
Es una banda con un estilo alocado, muy rockstar y a su vez bastante clásico y emotivo no deja de sorprendernos con sus metáforas sobre el amor, las relaciones y sobre la vida en cada una de sus canciones haciendo que nuestras emociones florezcan y a su vez que nos permitan experimentar estos cambios que ocurren en nosotros mismos a medida que crecemos. Es una de mis bandas favoritas y a la cual le tengo un inmenso aprecio por no solo enseñarme muchas cosas sobre la música sino también sobre la vida, sobretodo por acompañarme en mis momentos más vulnerables y fuertes, por estar en mis momentos más extraños y divertidos y por nunca haberme faltado ya que a pesar de aquel descanso que se tomaron hasta el 2018 estuvieron muy presentes en mi vida a través de los conciertos y entrevistas y luego continuaron en mi con sus siguientes álbumes que tocaron las partes más emocionales de mi y es casi como si hubiesen estado sincronizados con los cambios que hubieron en mi vida ya que sus canciones calzaron perfectamente con mis cambios.
It is a band with a crazy style, very rockstar and at the same time quite classic and emotional, they never cease to surprise us with their metaphors about love, relationships and life in each of their songs, making our emotions blossom and allowing us to experience these changes that occur in ourselves as we grow up. It is one of my favorite bands and to which I have an immense appreciation for not only teaching me many things about music but also about life, especially for accompanying me in my most vulnerable and strongest moments, for being in my strangest and funniest moments and for never missing me since despite that break they took until 2018 they were very present in my life through concerts and interviews and then continued in me with their next albums that touched the most emotional parts of me and it's almost as if they had been synchronized with the changes in my life since their songs fit perfectly with my changes.
Es una banda que se caracteriza por dos facetas increíbles las cuales son los rápidos sonidos de la batería y ese estilo rock que los caracteriza al inicio de la banda y al brusco cambio de ello a un estilo más tranquilo y suave que sigue mostrando la faceta de nostalgia y melancolía que nos transmitía Alex Turner desde un principio. Se caracterizan por la fuerte presencia de los instrumentos musicales, las guitarras, el bajo y la batería creando magníficos instrumentales que le dan más poder a las letras de las canciones, nos llevan por este viaje de lo que es la fama de los rockeros desde el inicio en donde aspiran parecerse a sus ídolos hasta el estrellato y luego al asiento de su popularidad en un viaje del auto-descubrimiento y el crecimiento personal. Es una banda que siempre recomiendo escuchar porque realmente te abre a un descubrir un mundo lleno de muchas melodías, nuevos géneros y a descubrir a nuevas bandas.
