Fuente

Greetings dear community of Hive Music, my user @geronimamunoz, today I bring you a rhythmic and very cheerful genre, it is typical of Folklore and sung by the people of the town, it is the Tambor de Caraballeda, La Guaira State. I am accompanied on percussion by our artist @manuelmusic, Francis Fiore and Maireth Alvarez, Noemí Acero (girl), Sindy Rojano, Bertha Caraballo, people dedicated and committed to the great legacy that Maestro José Antonio Abreu Anselm left us through the National System of Orchestras and Youth and Children's Choirs of Venezuela, previously they sang through choirs and this is the first time they dare to experiment singing this genre, on the other hand, I am infinitely grateful for the participation of all.
At first, we met to rehearse to assemble the video through the platform, we lived moments of great excitement for the fact that they were going out for the first time through Hive, I explained in advance what the project was about to see if they wanted to be included in it, so sing and have fun for a while with our traditional music, so it was, they gladly accepted and we started part of the logistics and movement to bring them this sample.

Within the great musical diversity in Venezuela, there is the Tambor de Caraballeda, one of the best known, I really love the energy that is generated by singing it, besides, the execution of the drums is very rich, they have different touches characterized as follows: the Pujo, the Pipa and the Burro Negro, always accompanied by the laures or sticks that are percuten on the body of the cumaco (long drum that rests on the floor), the maraca is also played and the responsorial chorus alternates with the soloist.
The drum is synonymous with Afro-Venezolanity, the feast of San Juan, dance, is celebrated every year on June 24, when singing it is combined with a first rhythm that is the Juan bimba, is smooth, cadenced and then changes to trancao which is much faster which is the proper drum beat, where couples show off dancing, moving their hips to the rhythm of the drum.
One of the groups that recorded in 1982, was Un solo pueblo, founded by Ismael Querales, Francisco Pacheco, Jesús Querales, being pioneers and one of the best groups of projection and diffusion of traditional music of our country. Here is a sample of this recording work. Source
