It was a cool and breezy day, started a bit gloomy in the morning then the drizzle gave way to a warmer atmosphere. And so we enjoyed a lovely day watching birds playing by the yard, listening to rustling branches, snacking on mangoes (my lil guy loved them), and of course, music! It's Tuesday after all!
One of my newly discovered artists is Avery Anna, a young, budding country talent from Arizona whose music career took off during the pandemic year (2020). Accordingly, she began uploading bathtub acoustics and covers on TikTok and one of her videos singing Say Something blew up. Social media has its good perks and this gotta be one of them!
Anyway, one of her viewers was a music executive Matt Thomas (from country group Parmalee) who then shared it with producer David Fanning. They signed up a management and production deal later that year.
Quite a history, yeah?
Avery released her first single in January 2021 and here it goes:
Avery Anna - Just Cause I Love You
Interesting Fact:
Avery sang a teaser of this song while in a tub and uploaded it on November 6, 2020, as a reply to one of her followers asking if she could post her own music. The video went viral and she released the full song two months later.
Avery Anna - Narcissist
This track was released in November 2021 under her album Mood Swings, still with Fanning's company. It became one of her huge songs. It reached no. 4 on Billboard's Country Digital Song Sales chart. Kelly Clarkson covered it in her Kellyoke segments.
Accordingly, she co-wrote the lyrics with Fanning, Ben Williams, and Andy Sheridan.
I’ve been singing and writing in a journal for as long as I can remember,” the 18-year-old tells Billboard. “Songwriting came from that. When I was younger, I would sing with my grandpa and he would play Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash. That’s where my love for country started, and I’ve been raised on it. Of course, later on, I came to love Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Kelsea Ballerini and so many more.¹
After graduating, she moved to Tenessee in 2022 and now makes music under Warner Music Group. She has performed with some famous names in the music industry such as Martina McBride, Miranda Lambert, and Luke Bryan, to name a few.
Avery Anna - I Love You More
This was her first song I encountered while exploring and I thought it was nice and fresh so why not check more? That's how this selection for the Three Tune Tuesday came about. I listened to her other songs and liked most of them too (that's probably obvious because I'm a country gal, lol)!
There goes my participation in the Three Tune Tuesday initiative by Ablaze. Thank you and hope you had fun! Cheers!
