Magical Voices of the Celtic Thunder

in #hive-19381620 hours ago

Contrary to my forecast of rain coming on Monday, the day turned out dry so it was a yay. Five of the hubby's male cousins arrived around evening time and one of them was playing some tunes that were friendly to my ears so I asked who the singers were. CT he said. "You must be kidding, I have not heard of such a band name," said I. He laughed wickedly and dared me to find it out in half an hour.

"Aha! So that's what you want? Cool! But how much would you pay me if I got it right?" I was kidding not. "500!" he replied.

Okay, game on! Although I didn't trust his word, nor did I search for the band's name for the hubby has seen it already, lol! Oh well, we have our wickedness too, haha!

CT stands for Celtic Thunder, an Irish group known for their diverse musical talents and influences, often showcasing theatrical style shows, choreographed staging, and visual effects. Accordingly, the group was formed in 2007 and its members changed over the years. Some left and others (George) passed away.

Anyhow, 'nuff of their backgrounds. Let's get on with my top 3 choices amongst their many songs, mostly from their older live performances with the group's OGs.

Sound of Silence

Like many other artists who covered this classic song, Colm Keegan and Keith Harkin of CT did a great job with theirs. Such a fun, pleasant performance from the two.

And let's check the second tune from the group, one of their live performances during their concert 9 years ago in Canada.

Hallelujah

CT's cover of the timeless song by Leonard Cohen is simply beautiful and moving, not to forget the accompaniment from the Celtic Thunder Band and the setting that made the performance even more powerful.

And finally the third tune for the day,

Seasons in the Sun

This cover of Terrence Ross' song reminded me of Westlife, another Irish band I loved listening to in my late teenage years. It is a beautiful, pleasant rendition from the group, a song that never gets old.

And there goes my recommended tunes for this week's edition of the TTT initiative by Ablaze. I hope you enjoyed them as much as I did. Thank you and have a fun Tuesday, frens!

Wow their tunes are so melodious and also ageless, I enjoyed listening to them as well. It's my first time hearing of them though. Nice one.

That's a niche!

I totally love your taste in music FG 🥰.

All these songs are amazing and do you know that the first song was sang in the late 60s? But it still sounds new almost every time I listen to it 🤭.

Thank you so much for sharing these covers, they all sang it uniquely and it gave it a different vibes! I enjoyed them 😊

The voice of both singer is very cool and magical and has the power to make mind cool. I liked first and third music most.
