Hello, world! Aloha, Tuesday😃
First off, did you know the Music Community has a cool badge? If you didn't, check it out here. I didn't realize it until I received a comment about it last week. It was a wonderful surprise and I do credit the TTT initiative by Ablaze for I would not be writing or posting about music without it. Speaking of, it's that time again in the week and we are sharing three tunes from a rising star in the country music arena - Payton Sullivan.
Payton grew up working with horses in Tennessee (Nashville) where her love for country music was rooted. In 2020, she joined Blake Shelton's team as one of the contestants on Season 19 of The Voice. Accordingly, that was the start of her journey to stardom. In 2022, she moved to Hawaii where she continues to make music and rides her surfboard.
And let me start my Three Tune Tuesday recommendation with Payton's collaboration with Polynesia's well-known commercial recording country-reggae artist, Maoli whom I shared about last month.
Here we go!
Payton Sullivan & Maoli - Dancing Away with My Heart
A unique and beautiful fusion of country and reggae. Their voices are a perfect blend, truly an enchanting duet! Accordingly, Maoli contacted Sullivan and their collab quickly happened. The single was released in February last year and the two continued their collaboration with the Boots on The Ground tour in April of the same year.
And the next tune for the day is Payton's cover of American country duo, Maddie & Tae's song.
Payton Sullivan - Die From a Broken Heart
What can I say? Payton's soulful vocals gave the emotional breakup song a fresh vibe and island beats with this reggae version. As expected, the music video was recorded on the beautiful shore of Hawaii.
And the last tune for today:
Payton Sullivan - Coastal Cowgirls
Another country track with island fun, and playful vibes, with girls on bikinis getting sand on their boots! You certainly can't take the country out of the girl!😍 Payton co-wrote the song with Ragan Hoffman and her producers David "Messy" Mescon, Jason "J-Vibe" Farmer, and Veer Dhaniram. It was premiered in October last year.
Payton's fanbase is yet to grow but I imagine she will continue to enjoy writing and creating music and who knows, one day, she'd eventually break her way to the top.
And there ends my discovery tunes for the week. Thank you and have a fabulous day.
