Music is by far my favourite media. It's time I write more about music. to do that, I'll list my favourite songs. My taste is very wide and I think good. Expect a nice mix of classic and new hits, spiced up with less known tracks.
Cannons - Hurricane
This is such a breakthrough! I didn't know this band. How classy they are! I bumped into this song when I finished a Thank You, President Corona proofreading session. I will definitely go to explore more about Cannons! Thank You, President Corona!
Duran Duran – Virus
This awesome B-side by Duran Duran fits so well these days. I'm in love with the synths and the bass dancing in this song. It talks about being a virus, but the sound makes me think about a nice afternoon by the sea or in a luxury lido sipping my cocktail by the pool.
Guns 'n Roses – Anything Goes
Let's stick to the '80s, the strangest decade for music. In the '80s, anything goes. My way, your way, anything goes tonight. When you need some boost in your confidence, maybe before an important meeting or a date, GNR is the band to go! Blast your stereo with Slash guitar and after 3 minutes, you're ready to rock whatever you need to rock!
The Divine Comedy - A Lady of a Certain Age
Before discovering this sweet masterpiece, I bumped into a cover by my favourite Italian band: Baustelle. These guys managed to translate the lyrics impeccably, while retaining all of the melancholy of the original story. This is a story of an aristocratic woman, who spent her life in the smart set, where she'd holidayed with kings, dined out with starlets One day, the lady met an older man, even richer than her. The lady didn't like him but she knows why she had to marry him. She gave him one boy and one girl. Now they are grown-up, leading their own lives. Now the lady is alone, hoping for a nice young man to fill her glass while she can chat about how she chased the sun around the Cote d'Azur. How old is this lady now? 53... No, she couldn't be!
John Legend - I Can't Write Left Handed
I was listening to what my Ukrainian colleague Yoni was telling about the current, tragic situation in his country, when my other colleague Jay, came up with a song named "I Can't Write Left Handed". The version posted by Jay is a cover by John Legend, but it was written and performed originally by Bill Withers. It's a long poem about a man who enrols for the Vietnam War, without any fear of dying. He will end up losing his right arm, so he will ask his comrade to write a letter for him, as he can't write left-handed...
"Strange little man over here in Vietnam, I ain't, I ain't never seen Bless his heart I ain't never done nothing to He done shot me in my shoulder, done shot me in my shoulder"
