«Un día más es un día menos» es una frase que me dijeron alguna vez, y durante el mes pasado la tuve dando vueltas en mi cabeza de forma constante, alguna vez se han preguntado ¿Cuántas canciones les quedan de vida?, hay quienes repetirían una canción muchas veces hasta exhalar su último aliento, otros se armarían una playlist de sus canciones favoritas y yo por mi parte prefiero la poesía de encontrar canciones que pueda escuchar por primera y última vez.
En esta oportunidad los invito a un viaje que como ya saben es a través de géneros, ritmos y artistas, que pueden o no gustarte, pero abren ventanas por las que puedes entrar e ir navegando hasta encontrar esa canción que no sabías necesitabas escuchar, y sin más palabrería porque «Un día más es un día menos» comencemos.
«One day more is one day less» is a quote that someone once told me, and over the past month I had it running around in my head in a constant way, have you ever wondered how many songs you have left in your life, there are people who would repeat a song many times until they exhale their last breath, others would put together a playlist of their favorite songs and for me I personally prefer the poetry of finding songs that I can listen to for the first and last time.

Giveon Dezmann es un cantante de Estados Unidos que descubrí hace poco, estaba buscando algo tranquilo para tener de fondo mientras trabajaba y en una playlist de R&B lo conseguí, este género que combina tantos otros es romántico, seductor, triste, tranquilo y algo que disfruto tener como cortina para diversas actividades, no es algo que suela recomendar para hacer actividad física a menos que hablemos de cierto tipo de Cardio 😈 y entonces si te sugiero incluirlo en tu Playlist.
Cuando lo comencé a escuchar había algo que me recordaba mucho a otros artistas como James Arthur o John Legend, aún no descubro exactamente si es por las letras de sus canciones o por tener una voz que se mantiene tranquila durante toda la canción, y a su vez esa dosis de Rap que incluye el R&B hace que sea un artista diferente y que se puede disfrutar.

Hablar de Rod Stewart es hablar de la juventud de quienes hoy son abuelos, este músico, compositor y productor británico tiene una carrera extensa que comenzó en los 70’ y en los 80’ ya se mostraba como uno de los referentes del Pop-Rock. Con Young Turks, una canción que invoca a la libertad, al amor y al avance, dedicada a la juventud y con un mensaje claro de que el tiempo está del lado de los jóvenes, esta canción tiene un ritmo muy característico, donde se notan bajo, batería, guitarras y el típico sintetizador de los 80’, un ritmo con el que comenzarías una larga noche de baile.
Con esta canción me ocurre algo que no sé si otras personas lo perciban igual, me genera un baile, pero no ganas de bailar, y me explico, con esta canción no quiero ir a bailar en la calle y sobre las mesas con alegría, es más un movimiento interno como permitiéndome que el ritmo forme parte de mí, sin dudas para mí es un abre bocas del Pop-Rock y una ventana que estoy seguro te abrirá el camino hacia lo mejor del rock de los 80’

Esto es algo que en principio yo necesitaba y ahora quiero compartir, consejo es el nombre de esta canción o conselho en portugués y es uno de los clásicos de la Samba, en Brasil pasa por épocas donde desaparece y luego se retoma en otros géneros y otros estilos, es bastante común ver que se cante en grupos cantando en una especie de coro y disfrutando un buen ritmo con una excelente letra.
Una canción habla de muchas cosas, de desamor, duelo, decepción y las formas de levantarse tras sentir que caíste, una de esas canciones que guardo en mi Playlist de caricias para el alma; normal entender que esta canción sea un clásico de la música en brasil, una de esas canciones que debemos agradecer a este país, una poesía al ritmo de la samba.

Esta es la joyita de este post, algo diferente, un artista que no sabía que me iba a gustar y que en cuanto lo descubrí causo un gran impacto en mí, no es solo este estilo de Rap que realmente disfruto siempre, es la voz de Sabino y como utiliza el pop, el reggae y otros géneros para darle un toque diferente a sus canciones, nuevamente el R&B se hace presente pero esta vez desde el lado hispanoparlante.
Esta canción es una que recomiendo como introducción, pues a pesar de que es bonita y romántica, no sé si es por la voz de Sabino o el ritmo, por momentos me resulta cómica y hasta agresiva, este es un estilo musical que estoy seguro la gran mayoría puede agregar a su playlist y disfrutarlo, porque combina lo mejor de otros estilos y corrige aquellas falencias que pueden hacer que no disfrutes tanto el reggae, el rap y el pop en general.
This is the jewel of this post, something different, an artist that I did not know I was going to like and that as soon as I discovered it caused a great impact on me, it is not only this style of Rap that I really enjoy always, it is the voice of Sabino and how he uses pop, reggae and other genres to give a different touch to his songs, again the R&B is present but this time from the Spanish-speaking side.

Yo que soy un enamorado del Reggae tenía rato incómodo porque todo el reggae sonaba parecido y muchos de los artistas que eran fieles a este género ahora mezclaban otros ritmos con el reggae para crear algo distinto; Hay un humorista Colombiano llamado Rastacuando que me hizo comprender lo fácil que es cantar sobre una base de reggae, y que lo importante del reggae es poder fluir mientras cantas o declamas. Cuando busco nuevas voces en el Reggae que me lleven a lo tradicional termino siempre con SOJA o Bob Marley & The Wailers, luego están otros cientos de artistas como UB40, Manu Chao o Dread Mar-I, estaba buscando algo nuevo y diferente, y lo encontré.
Home Grown es una banda de Reggae y Folk conformada por Japoneses y Coreanos, que desde los 80 está creando reggae de la más alta calidad y supongo que por la barrera del idioma no se escucha lo suficiente en Sudamérica, en esta canción que hoy les presento se juntaron con Spinna B-ILL un cantante de Hip-Hop, Pop y Folk de Japón cuya voz es una locura y hace de estos géneros algo sumamente disfrutable. ¿Que ocurre cuando juntas dos cosas buenas?, creas algo increíble, y eso es lo que ocurre en esta canción que hoy les presento, una canción nostálgica y con una letra que recomiendo traducir, que al menos a mí personalmente me hizo sentir feliz de haberlos encontrado y ahora, no solo tengo un nuevo artista sino dos, que me abren ventanas a toda la industria del reggae asiático, una industria sumamente grande y por la que podemos navegar.

What happens when you put two good things together, you create something incredible, and that's what happens in this song that I present to you today, a nostalgic song with lyrics that I recommend to translate, that at least for me personally made me feel happy to have found them and now, not only I have a new artist but two, that open windows to the whole Asian reggae industry, an extremely big industry that we can navigate through.
