Recently, while on a trip to Florida ,I found some great records in the five dollar bin from legendary drummer and producer, Marc Cerrone.

Mostly known for his disco productions in the 1970s, Cerrone has sold over 30 million records and his songs have been covered or sampled numerous times over the years.

While he may not have the average household name recognition of say, Georgio Moroder, he is certainly known in circles of people familiar with disco music and I'm willing to bet those two producers had a healthy competition with their records back in the heyday.

This is the title cut from Cerrone's first record, a certified disco classic. A full record side-long sex party banger. This is the American version of this release, which doesn't have as risque of a record cover.

1977

Supernature is another one of his standout tracks, selling 8 million copies. I was happy to find this, as i only had some generic disco cover version and maybe the single edit on vinyl already-glad to have it in it's entirety! This song features guest vocals from Lene Lovich, who would go on to have her own career in music with some new wave/synth pop records. What's with his posture on this album cover, though???

"IV"
1978

The song featured here, Rocket in the Pocket, is the first song I recognized from Cerrone, probably from listening to lots of classic DJ mix tapes. It may be his most famous song, but I wasn't really around in the original disco era, so I don't know what the clubs were really playing back then... But I do know the DJ's still like to use those heavy drums from this record!

Here's a bonus music video for Supernature-what a dark video!... It's got everything, proto-furries, a sci-fi horror vibe and a drum set in the middle of nowhere!

Thanks for reading, I hope you liked my post!

When I first heard people speaking, I was kike what's going in and right then a sound came in and it was beautiful. Every song shared is amazing.
