Saturday is chores day, the most dreadful day of the week.
Simultaneously, it's also the day that I listen to the most music and make the most musical discoveries.
Most Saturdays, I listen to the music alphabetically... Other times I base it off their genre, sometimes it's based on the authors names or whatever music I feel like listening to just there and then.
Regardless, this last Saturday, I had an urgent need to listen to Benson Boone. At such, I went on and played his discography, hitting a musical goldmine.
A goldmine that I've been mining since then.
Of the number of songs that I've heard, so many were good, loads were wonderful and sone were breathtaking.
Yet these 3 stood out to me the most..
In The Stars
Benson literally blew my mind with this song. Moved my sould and fueled my creativity to the point I wrote a short story about it.
A song that shows the period of grief found when you lose a loved one.
Slow It Down
Although released 7 months ago, I first heard this song 2 weeks ago on the Sunday Morning Countdown on a radio.
The Sunday morning countdown is a list of trending songs that are ranked from 20-1 according to how much they were liked.
This song was somewhere in the last five and I remember vividly nodding my head to it on my way back from church.
Little did I know that I'd be screaming the chorus while cleaning the toilet six days later. A truly fun song.
Pretty Slowly
This one was dampening. If In The Stars gave you that feeling of calm and solace, this song would make you think back and realize while you understand what was happening.
Using faint country style music, like a movie Benson dictates the relationship between a boy and a girl as they watch their love change from what they knew to what it is.. or rather isn't.
This is my entry to @ablazes #threetunestuesday. An initiative for music lovers to come together every Tuesday and share any 3 tunes of their choice.
It has quickly become my favorite initiative as I get to listen and see why someone likes an artist/album/track while also share my thoughts on my nominated artist/album/track.
Regardless, almost everyone knows Benson from his hit single Beautiful Things. I did too ..
But did you guys know these?
Which song was your favorite?✨
