Today has been really busy for me, renovations and preparing for my two female dogs who are due to born by November.
I already had some songs planned out, but on a whim I've decided to change them. Remembering about 3 months ago when I watched the wonderful series sex education.
I realized just how well coupled their ending music matched the emotion each season had.
I found it astonishing, and had to go do my investigations on these songs to share them here...
On The Radio ~ Chip Taylor
This song nearly left me in tears after the happenings of season 2.
We had just watched Otis heart be torn and him tearing others in turn.
The emotional sadness and sorrow was at its peak while the season closed with the tear jerking chorus from this song.
Let It Be ~ Aretha Franklin
Season 4 had it's toll on me, I'd gone through a lot, heartbreak, love giddiness, fear, laughter, second hand embarrassment and now a numbing sense of understanding.
It was coming to an end, the numerous explorations of the heart, I was pained just like Otis as he read the letter Maeve left for him.
I could feel his hurt, yet knew his understanding and respected his joy.
At that moment I remembered a quote;
"No matter how much you think you won't find any other love again right now, you will."
The truth is that no one can ever be sure that their first love isn't going to be their last one, yet we have that hope, we choose to have the hope and thus when our heart breaks as she goes, we let it be.
Port Antonio ~ J. Cole
This is a new song that isn't on the sex education soundtrack list but there's something about coles rhyme's that makes it seem as though you're looking at a movie.
What made this even more moving for me is because I watched the scene he described in real life.
The Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud that happened two months ago I sided with Kendrick yet still understood Jcole removing himself from the argument.
Till now I don't understand why people threw shades on him, I don't understand why Kendrick started dissing Drake, I don't understand why I chose a side ..
Still I'm a fan (not of Drake though), so I guess I'm just like the average mindless Joe who's influenced by what he hears and likes, hopefully the wisdom in these words influence me more...
