The Gems At The Bottom of The Playlist.

Today, instead of rushing to go to class, I decided to stay at home first and wait for confirmation that the class would hold.
Thank God I did because, the lecturer didn't come plus a nasty bout of rainfall fell, one which if I was outside my home or on the road, it was inevitable that I would be drenched.
I had already gotten wet yesterday, coming home early because of a class that didn't hold and I didn't plan to get soaked by rain twice.

Regardless, cloudy skies, sounds of thunder and flashes of lightning with the pitter-patter of rain is the normal weather for July in my country so many more days would be grey like today.

Today, as typical of a rainy day (and because I ditched school) I spent most of my time in my room, listening to music while typing exam questions for my mom.

The typing bit wasn't voluntary 😞

While listening to music and working, I developed a regular tempo between my clicking of keys and beats from the songs.
Then suddenly, I heard different beats from what I was usually used to.
I had to check my phone to see the song and then it occurred to me.
This is my song!

Well not my song, but it's a song I had added to my playlist.
The bad bit about being a music keeper is that you really can't listen to em all.
Most times when I play my playlist, it starts from the top, and before even reaching half of it.
I'd have turned of mt music app and started another task.
Then the problem which I have noticed with shuffle is the fact that they tend to shuffle and play the songs you've listened to the most.
At such the songs at the bottom of the playlist are left alone, forgotten and with hardly any chance to shine.

Well today I gave them that chance and was quite amazed at what I had stopped listening to.

The Devil's Calling - DAX

I remember when I had first found the talented self promoted Nigerian Canadian Rapper. His flow was great, speed beautiful and his message was just a tad depressive yet real.
I fell in love with his singles Gotham and the Grinch, before I went after his EP's abd Albums.
Pain Paints Paintings is his first (and far as I know) only studio album as of late. It's beautiful as it takes on the theme of his rise to fane, depicting his experiences, abd battles against depression, heartbreak and questions of God.
This song, the devil's calling, is a bit of an oddball as he tackles three of his regular topics; religion, media and depression all at once.
It is a great song though, nice tune and flow as always.
Dax, an underappreciated player in the rap game.

That's What I Want - Lil Nas X

Here's one artist that I don't usually like talking about.
His claims about sexuality is one that shocked me and one that I don't fully believe due to how so many people are "coming out" just so they can gain more fame and attention.
I'm not homophobic (such a scary word), yet my views don't agree with the rainbow flag people so I just tolerate em at best.
Regardless, my taste in music isn't controlled by my views on genders and so many others could like Lil Nas because he like Misters or Misses but I like this song cause the fellow can sing.

I don't have a particular reason for like this tune. Probably because of the fast paced guitar strumming, or the nice beat it his lovely voice that pulled it all together.
Regardless, the song is a masterpiece, and masterpieces in my playlist?

That's what I want.

Roxanne - Arizona Zervas

This was one of my first entry to my playlists. To be exact, I remember when I first heard it that summer of 2019.
The nostalgia is real!!!
Thinking of the girl from Malibu who's just in it for the money and the fun.
Roxanne is that song!!

Bonus Tune

Mood (Remix)- 24k Golden, Iaan Door and Justin Bieber

The original song was great, featuring Iaan Door gave it that rugged teen vibe that made the girls go crazy.
Heck, I went crazy for it too.
The mood was set and Justin Bieber decided to join the jam.
The vocals were amazing. It had this serene angelic touch that really just calms the soul and gives a totally different but good mood.
Some fans protested on it but with time everybody grew to love this remix.

These are just a few of the shiny gems i found buried in my playlist.
The fact that there are so many more is sad and what's even sadder is that I continue to be adding to the playlist.
Hozier released a new EP and the jam Too Sweet is just Too sweet 😭😭

Although that would be for my next entry into #ttt the lovely musical initiative hosted by our Irish Pal @ablaze.

And so with just these few gems, I bid you, my precious reader, adieu.
Till I grace your screen again ✨

I'm not even surprised you didn't volunteer. Lazy kids.😂

I do agree with you about Dax being underappreciated. That guy says truths a lot of people probably don't want to hear. Makes you reflect and all. He's a good listen, any day.

Abeg abeg abeg😂😂😂😂😂😂

It was rainy in the morning here too. The weather is similar across various nations. Glad you didn't rush out or you could have been wet.

Haha, at least you helped your Mom :)

It's past 5 pm here and I was feeling sleepy then I listened to Dax and yo, I'm up 😅

All three songs are cool!

Went out today and the rain escorted me back in😂😂😂😭

July is always a wet month 😭😂

Oh! No good is it? It used to be so wet here too but these recent years, we have dry days in July which I love :)
