What's up guys? Chinese New Year is around the corner so I'm thinking of sharing Chinese songs from now until the end of February for three tune Tuesday. I've had a wild ride listening to many different types of music but Chinese songs have kind of stuck on me these last few years. Today, I want to share three songs from Yo Lee. He's a singer from Taiwan and he's not really that famous. It seems like he had a good start in his music career but then he couldn't quite keep it up. His last video uploaded was two years ago so he might've quit a career in the music industry. Anyways, I hope you like one of his songs!
#1. 都好 Whatsoever - 李友廷 Yo Lee
I actually only had two songs I liked a lot and the rest were neutral for me. I chose this song because the music video was weird and I felt the lyrics could be relatable to some people. The song is about someone that tries to give input and make efforts to make things better but nobody listens to him. He gives up and just goes with the flow hence the "都好 Whatsoever" mentioned in the song multiple times.
#2. 誰 One Who Will (Find Me) - 李友廷 Yo Lee
Now, this song is tied for the best song by Yo Lee in my opinion. I love the emo melody along with the emo yet meaningful lyrics. The song is about a guy making bank, getting recognition from others and having the materialistic things yet he he feels empty despite having all these things. The person realized that they were missing love; they were missing someone that understood them (can accept their good and bad) and had a connection with them. The person is waiting and wondering who that person is and when will she come into his life.
#3. 直到我遇見了你 Until I Met You - 李友廷 Yo Lee
This is the last song I'm sharing and the one tied for the best. I love the R&B feel in this song and I thought it was cool how they used the saxophone to give a bit of that jazzy feel. The song is about a person that is in a point where his life is repetitive. The person feels that their life is a bit boring and it's just the same thing Monday-Sunday. This can be supported by the first two lyrics "以為生活就是重複 (I thought life was just repetition.) , 自己就是全部 (I thought I was my whole world.)". Eventually this changed because a girl coming into his life. The guy totally fell in love with the girl which ended up spicing his life and getting out of that repetition.
Thank You
If you made it to the end, thank you so much for reading and listening. Do you like Chinese songs? If yes, what do you think of Yo Lee?
Please don't be afraid to share your three songs every Tuesday! Share the music share the love.
Credits
