Saludos y feliz semana para todos. Hoy me sumo a la edición 160 de la iniciativa musical de todos los martes: Three Tune Tuesday, del amigo @ablaze. Y en esta ocasión, les compartiré tres canciones de una banda que me gustó muchísimo y que aún hoy me encanta: LEVEL 42.
Greetings and happy week to all. Today I join the 160th edition of the musical initiative every Tuesday: Three Tune Tuesday, from my friend @ablaze. And on this occasion, I will share three songs from a band that I really liked and that I still love today: LEVEL 42.
Esta banda la oí por primera vez en una guerra de minitecas a la que fui, si mal no recuerdo, a mediados de los 80’s. Las guerras de minitecas eran fiestas al aire libre, en donde varios Dj’s hacían retos, y la gente se divertía bailando y compartiendo, eran fiestas geniales, a donde iba mucha gente, y eran ideales para pasar un buen rato y conocer a otras personas. Dicho esto, veamos mis canciones del #ttt de hoy.
I heard this band for the first time in a war of minitheques that I went to, if I remember correctly, in the mid-80's. The miniteca wars were open-air parties, where several DJs did challenges, and people had fun dancing and sharing, they were great parties, where a lot of people went, and they were ideal for having a good time and meeting other people. That being said, let's look at my #ttt songs today.
Ahora vamos con mis canciones / Now let's go with my songs
Hoy inicio este #ttt con un clásico, que no faltaba en ninguna guerra de minitecas, ni tampoco en ninguna discoteca y este es “Lessons in love”. Esta canción ME ENCANTA, además era muy divertido en ese entonces oírla, porque tenía un amigo que hacía el performance de bailarla y “cantarla” (no muy bien que se diga, jajajajaja). La música y la letra son estupendas, la batería, la guitarra, el teclado y los sintetizadores suenan súper bien, las segundas voces son geniales; y el video no se queda atrás, ya que condensa toda la estética ochentera que siempre me ha gustado y siempre me gustará. Today I start this #ttt with a classic, which was not missing in any mini-theque war, nor in any nightclub and this is “Lessons in love”. I LOVE this song, and it was also very fun to listen to it back then, because I had a friend who did the performance of dancing to it and “singing” it (not very well, hahaha). The music and lyrics are great, the drums, guitar, keyboard and synthesizers sound great, the second voices are great; and the video is not far behind, since it condenses all the eighties aesthetics that I have always liked and will always like. Mi segunda canción para este martes es la bonita “Something About You”, y a esta la oía en las estaciones de radio de mi ciudad, pues no es una melodía para minitecas, pero sí está bastante buena, y aunque la letra no es de lanzar cohetes, la música es genial, así como las voces. Es una canción de esas que solía oír mientras hacía mis deberes del colegio. El video es algo extraño, pero creativo y con una marcada estética ochentera también, por aquí se los dejo, para que viajen en el tiempo con esta estupenda banda inglesa.
My second song for this Tuesday is the beautiful “Something About You”, and I heard this one on the radio stations in my city, because it is not a melody for minitecas, but it is quite good, and Although the lyrics are not rocket science, the music is great, as are the voices. It's one of those songs I used to listen to while doing my schoolwork. The video is something strange, but creative and with a marked eighties aesthetic as well, here I leave it for you, so you can travel back in time with this wonderful English band.
Cerrando mi trilogía de hoy, les compartiré una canción, que es algo diferente, “Leaving Me Now”, y que podría decirse es la continuación de la anterior, pues, si ven los videos, el personaje del mago-payaso malo u obscuro que aparece en el previo, aquí, en este video cambia de actitud y se muestra arrepentido y triste. También aquí la letra es más profunda, es mucho mejor, y aunque la música es nostálgica, es bonita. El video, con esa marca ochentera inconfundible, es también muy bueno. Por aquí se los comparto, disfrútenlo.
Closing my trilogy today, I will share with you a song, which is something different, “Leaving Me Now”, and which could be said to be the continuation of the previous one, well, if you watch the videos, the character of bad or dark clown-magician who appears in the previous one, here, in this video, he changes his attitude and appears regretful and sad. Also here the lyrics are deeper, they are much better, and although the music is nostalgic, it is beautiful. The video, with that unmistakable eighties brand, is also very good.
