Greetings and happy week. Today is Monday, February 3, 2025, a month that looks very nice (I hope so), so I wanted to receive it by sharing three beautiful songs, all eighties, all soft and all Venezuelan, to remember on this MUSICAL MONDAY, a stage in which Venezuelan music diversified and reached a high level, and this was in the 80's.
Era común en esos años, oír en las emisoras radiales canciones nuevas, que eran promovidas a veces hasta la saciedad, para que el público se interesara en ellas. En aquel entonces no existía Internet ni ninguna red social, que permitiera la proyección y difusión que muchos artistas y canciones tienen en la actualidad, por lo que si alguien triunfaba en popularidad, era (en la mayoría de los casos) porque tenía calidad musical; y eso precisamente tienen las tres canciones que compartiré hoy con todos ustedes: Gran nivel musical.
It was common in those years to hear new songs on radio stations, which were sometimes promoted ad nauseam, so that the public would be interested in them. Back then there was no Internet or any social network that would allow the projection and dissemination that many artists and songs have today, so if someone succeeded in popularity, it was (in most cases) because they had musical quality; and that is precisely what the three songs that I will share today with all of you have: Great musical level.
Y hoy, me he decantado por traer bonitas canciones de amor, algunas felices y esperanzadoras, otras tristes, pero hermosas las tres. Fueron canciones que oí y canté muchas veces, siempre con el corazón, porque me emocionaban mucho, por eso guardan un bonito lugar en mis recuerdos. Dicho esto, vamos a ver las canciones de mi MUSICAL MONDAY.
And today, I have decided to bring beautiful love songs, some happy and hopeful, others sad, but all three beautiful. They were songs that I heard and sang many times, always with my heart, because they moved me a lot, that's why they keep a nice place in my memories. That said, let's see the songs from my MUSICAL MONDAY.
Mis canciones para este Musical Monday / My songs for this Musical Monday
I begin this trilogy today, with a poem turned into a song, and this is literal, because this song by the duo GINA Y AGNI, set music to a poem by the great Venezuelan poet ANDRÉS ELOY BLANCO, and the poem-song is SILENCE. The lyrics are beautiful, because it is a promise of love that goes beyond old age, it even transcends death. It should be noted that within the song you can hear the recording of the voice of the poet Andrés Eloy Blanco reciting part of this literary gem. Regarding the song, Gina and Agni's voices harmonize perfectly, plus the music is great. It is a song with great meaning, which deserves to be heard, reflected on and felt. Now I continue with another duo, this time it is FERNANDO AND JUAN CARLOS, who in the 80s had some hits, and the song I selected is “AUN PASO POR TU CASA”, a beautiful ballad, which narrates the sadness and hopelessness of a boy who passes by the house of a girl he is in love with, and after she always looked out, smiled and greeted him, there was a moment when she disappeared, and he was left without the brief solace of seeing her, even if it was at his window. It is a fresh, simple, beautiful song, in which the voices of these two singers combine very well. Here I share the audio of this melody.
Y cerrando mi trilogía en este hermoso MUSICAL MONDAY, les comparto una canción de un gran músico venezolano SERGIO PÉREZ, quien en los 80 hizo muy buenas canciones. Este músico, desde mi punto de vista era o es excepcional, (aún se mantiene activo a sus 71 años), con un gran nivel como compositor y como instrumentista, lo cual se reflejaba en sus canciones. Y la que comparto hoy es la hermosa “A DÓNDE VA EL AMOR”, una canción reflexiva y hasta cierto punto, filosófica, que plantea la interrogante de a dónde se va el amor cuando finaliza. También les dejo el audio de esta hermosura.
And closing my trilogy on this beautiful MUSICAL MONDAY, I share with you a song by a great Venezuelan musician SERGIO PÉREZ, who in the 80s made very good songs. This musician, from my point of view, was or is exceptional, (he is still active at 71 years old), with a great level as a composer and as an instrumentalist, which was reflected in his songs. And the one I share today is the beautiful “WHERE LOVE GOES”, a reflective and, to a certain extent, philosophical song, which raises the question of where love goes when it ends.
