A warm greeting to the entire #Music community. I have the pleasure of performing on my trumpet «Tea For Two», a jazz standard composed by Vincent Youmans in 1925, with lyrics by Irving Caesar. The original key of C Major, in my case, I play it in Bb major. The harmony is based on a diatonic chord progression with a cheerful and optimistic character. I love the melody, it has short, repetitive phrases with occasional chromatic leaps. The rhythm is moderate and constant, I really like the swing pattern characteristic of jazz. The use of syncopations and accents in the rhythm is charming. The lyrics mix romanticism and complicity and invite us to reflect on the importance of human connections and the beauty of sharing simple moments with the people we love. My favorite versions are those by Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald. Without a doubt, it is a wonderful piece of music and I hope you enjoy my version.

When I was a child, I would lie in my room, eyes closed, immersed in the warm, enveloping sounds of Louis Armstrong's trumpet, the explosive energy of Dizzy Gillespie, or the emotional depth of Miles Davis. And then, switching cassettes, I would let myself be carried away by the sensual melodies of John Coltrane's saxophone and the velvety voice of Nina Simone. What a privilege to have had access to such musical wealth from such a young age! There was a store near the music school that was a true paradise. There I could explore such a wide repertoire, both rock and jazz. Those visits to the store became small rituals, in which I discovered new bands, and new albums and was able to expand my musical universe. Recently I searched through several boxes and found many records connected with pleasant memories.

Tea For Two
I'm discontented
With homes that are rented
So I have invented
My own
Darling this place is
A lover's oasis
Where life's weary chase is
Unknown
Far from the cry of the city
Where flowers pretty
Caress the stream
Cozy to hide in
To live side by side in
Don't let it abide in
My dream
Picture you
Upon my knee
Just tea for two
And two for tea
Just me for you
And you for me
Alone
Nobody near us
To see us or hear us
No friends or relations
On weekend vacations
We won't have it known, dear
That we own a telephone, dear
Day will break
And you'll awake
And start to bake
A sugar cake
For me to take
For all the boys to see
We will raise a family
A boy for you, a girl for me
Can't you see how happy we will be
