Welcome to my music blog, I share with you my interpretation with the trumpet of «At the Beginning» a beautiful ballad from the animated film "Anastasia" (1997). This piece of music was composed by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. It tells us about hope, perseverance and rediscovery of oneself against all odds. The tune is highly emotive, with contrasting vocals, subtle dynamics and warm instrumentation creating a deeply emotional and memorable listening experience. The chord progression is primarily tonal, with minor modulations adding depth and emotional tension. The tempo is moderate and consistent, creating a sense of fluidity and forward movement. There are subtle tempo changes in the bridge and coda to add drama and emotion. The challenge of this piece is the different note figures, such as eighth notes and sixteenth notes. It can be a little tiring. In the end I had to make some adaptations, but with a satisfactory ending.
If there is one thing I am sure of, it is that the purpose of life is to be happy. We do not come to this sphere to suffer, or to be unhappy. I understand that sometimes we wonder why there is so much opposition. However, it is important to know that you cannot know the sweet without knowing the bitter. In my personal life I have had many falls, some have been painful and others minor. I take the best from those experiences, the learning has been great. And without those tests the best in me would not come out. Getting up is a great victory. When we look back at our life, we see that every time we have woken up, it has been an opportunity to be happy. Now, we are clear that it is a challenge to be happy, but even when you fall you can be happy. You have to thoroughly practice optimism and happiness. It's like giving yourself an opportunity to fulfill your purpose.
At the Beginning
[Verse 1: Donna Lewis, Richard Marx, Both]
We were strangers, starting out on a journey
Never dreaming, what we'd have to go through
Now here we are, I'm suddenly standing
At the beginning with you
No one told me, I was going to find you
Unexpected, what you did to my heart
When I lost hope
You were there to remind me
This is the start
[Chorus: Donna Lewis & Richard Marx]
And life is a road and I wanna keep goin'
Love is a river I wanna keep flowing
Life is a road now and forever wonderful journey
I'll be there when the world stops turning
I'll be there when the storm is through
In the end I want to be standing
At the beginning with you
[Verse 2: Donna Lewis, Richard Marx, Both]
We were strangers on a crazy adventure
Never dreaming how our dreams would come true
Now here we stand, unafraid of the future
At the beginning with you
[Chorus: Donna Lewis & Richard Marx]
And life is a road and I wanna keep goin'
Love is a river I wanna keep flowing
Life is a road now and forever wonderful journey
I'll be there when the world stops turning
I'll be there when the storm is through
In the end I want to be standing
At the beginning with you
[Bridge: Donna Lewis & Richard Marx]
Knew there was somebody somewhere
I need love in the dark
Now I know my dream will live on
I've been waiting so long
Nothing is going to tear us apart
[Chorus: Donna Lewis & Richard Marx]
And life is a road and I wanna keep goin'
Love is a river I wanna keep flowing
Life is a road now and forever wonderful journey
I'll be there when the world stops turning
I'll be there when the storm is through
In the end I want to be standing
At the beginning with you
[Outro: Donna Lewis, Both]
Life is a road and I wanna keep goin'
Love is a river I wanna keep flowin'
Starting out on a journey
Life is a road and I wanna keep goin'
Love is a river I wanna keep flowin'
In the end I want to be standing
At the beginning with you
