If I feel my mood is swinging, even for small things, then I follow my set of rules. I know many people complain their minds never remain stable. And we can always get the telltale signs. At first, my mood remains good, but the next moment my mood changes, even with small things. I believe to move ahead in life and to maintain restraint; it is very important to remain calm to live a peaceful life.
If your mind remains calm, then you will maintain the balance in your life. If your mind is not calm, then you can never keep yourself focused on your goals. So whenever you feel like your mood is shaky, or it remains bad, maybe you need to take certain measures to bring it back on track.
As far as I am concerned, the moment I feel I am not paying proper attention to my work and thinking more about things which have nothing to do with my routine or distracting my mind, I immediately stop thinking in that direction for some time. I divert my attention or stop working. I engage in something which gives peace to my mind or quit working totally.
However, it is very important that I don’t go through such a situation in a normal course, but if I go through such a situation regularly, I take it seriously.
Have you ever suddenly realized it's someone else's mood swing and you're just along for the ride?

Hehe, not me, I feel that way when I am in a terrible mood.
By the way, I am a peace-loving guy and my nature is not hypersensitive or narcissistic in a normal course, so I know what to do if I go through such a situation.
But when this happens to me repeatedly, or I get irritated for any reason, I try to control myself and don’t get caught up in the impulse of emotions.
Then I sit and think, what do I like best in such a situation? Or what will make me feel good? Fortunately, I am not a foodie, so eating doesn’t help my cause. I don’t enjoy gardening anymore, so that too is out of the question.
So I look for activities to produce a "feel good hormone" in my body. One of them is exercising, or exposure to sunlight. That sure increases the level of "serotonin" in my body. It sure can help everyone, but make sure your age factor is important in this.
Sometimes I try to stay focused on one task. But my brain sends me signals that tell me what I'm doing wrong. I definitely understand these signals and I know what to do in such a circumstance.
So what do I do? I go to my nearest naturally rich tourist place and try not to have any gadgets with me other than my phone. And I don’t even use my phone unless absolutely necessary. And better still, I find a bench by the river or in a secluded place in the mountain range and sit there.
