Hello, Minimalist lovers.

It's me again, Titis.

Living minimalist and simple things is very challenging especially in this era of practicality that presents ambiguity. When product advertisements offer practicality precisely with the intention of making humans more consumptive, such as more sophisticated household goods.
However, in this post, I want to share my experience of how my struggle to be more minimalist and simple actually caused tension between me and my mother.

You know, I don't know how many mums out there, including my mum, love hoarding unnecessary things? It happens to my mum too. Although it's not yet a hoarding disorder, the habit of hoarding used cutlery that should be thrown away is the same as accumulating negative energy in the house. In addition, there is a lot of fine dust that makes the house feel more suffocating and takes up space too.

Not only that, some of the old clothes that my mum no longer wears because they don't fit anymore are not being taken down. She thought that maybe one day they would come in handy, but they did. It's been years since they've been lying around uselessly and only generating negative energy.
Even though it wasn't a big deal, there was almost always conflict between my mum and I about my decluttering process. Even so, I still declutter because for me, it makes the atmosphere cleaner, the maintenance of household appliances more practical and hassle-free, and also makes the storage space more spacious.

Actually, until now, I don't have any tips on what I'm going to do to make my mum understand me in the process of becoming a minimalist and simple, so, what I do is just accept the possibility that we will continue to disagree as I declutter regularly.

Because you know what? After the decluttering process, my mum didn't turn against me, she just didn't like that I was reducing things too much. Ha ha ha

Sometimes, in order not to cause too much strife, I have to be clever by filtering things when my mom is travelling. She sometimes travels for a few days, so this is the golden time for me to sort out unused items.
What happens when my mum comes home and realises what I've done? Of course she'll be fuming for a while, and that's okay, it's what I did so I just shut up and apologise. The important thing is that nothing is left unused and causing negative energy and dust.

Educating older people is sometimes very difficult, so I don't really mind if my mum and I have a disagreement about decluttering. Eventually, I'm sure she'll understand that what I'm doing is good.

Thank you for listening to my writing, I will also be happy to read your posts that you share. Thank you so much!

I love my mom so much❤️

Hi, I am the child of the universe, I like to read books with various genres. I was born in the city of batik but can't draw batik yet. I want to be a novelist, but my works are only short poems that are included in anthology books.

please share my content if you feel my content is good for everyone to read. Thank you. Let's be friends!

Growing up, my mum had these set of cutleries we almost never saw except there was a wedding or something important going on.
I always wondered where she kept them and up until today I can't even say where she always hid them because there was literally no space I could imagine her hiding them.

I know I wouldn't want to keep so much stuff that I only used once in a while, but somehow the few times we got to use them made it even more special than the meal. I've come to realize that maybe older people are more attached to things because of the memories they've accumulated using them over the years.

OMG! this is so relatable, it's the same here. there's always a magical thing that only our mothers know where they keep their precious things. hahha... this is so funny. no matter how annoying it is to pile up stuff, that's how mothers are. may your mother always be healthy and happy.

Thanks a lot for stopping by, i'll sending love for your mom.🤩

Thank you

One thing I have always been encouraged by mom to do is to give to others.

Whether it’s clothes you no longer wear, cutlery or even footwear. Instead of them lying around, handing them to those who need it the most can make your life easier and bring you some sort of joy.

Maybe, you can start that with your mom
