Exploring Urban Summer Skies

in #hive-194913last year

Hello everyone, I hope your summer is going well !Since I've been back, I don't think I've interrupted my presence here for so long, and believe me, if it had been possible, you'd have heard more from me !

The mission I was on has come to an end, and I have to say that it was particularly long and trying in terms of disrupting my cycle and my usual routine. But I'll tell you more about that in a few days.

Let's move on to a few images that came to me very naturally, as the streets in Lyon are quite narrow and high. Instinctively, I wanted to capture the perspectives formed by the red and yellow facades typical of these old flats in the centre of the city...

IMG_7436.JPG

All the images were taken with my phone, because as I was away on business, I didn't really have room for an extra camera... unfortunately !

This photo above is the only one taken horizontally, and although I would have liked to have taken others, I have to admit that in this case, vertical worked much better :)

IMG_7707.JPG

IMG_7709.JPG

Old buildings and more modern ones, made of glass and curves with the reflections that go with them... and sometimes a bird that invites itself into the picture.

IMG_7713.JPG

Here we are in the Croix-Rousse district, an area I would have liked to explore further, but that's for another time !

IMG_7714.JPG

Each specific bend and shape brings different patterns and I have to say that with more time, I could have found many more...

IMG_7774.JPG

Here, with these hanging shoes, the traditional sign indicating the boundary between two neighborhoods... a boundary determined by the local youth in particular.

IMG_7777.JPG

Simple or complex shapes and angles of view, always pointing towards the infinite blue...

IMG_7778.JPG

IMG_7786.jpg

On the outskirts of a church... The intertwined vaults are a little more poetic and less straightforward.

IMG_7788.JPG

The ride continues and I have to say that the most risky thing about it is getting a stiff neck !

IMG_7792.JPG

At the corner, with the lamppost, and if you look carefully, a few swallows hovering peacefully...

IMG_7816.JPG

IMG_7814.JPG

We'll finish with these last two images and, as you can imagine, this shooting project deserves a lot of attention and that's probably what I'll be doing in the near future !

I hope you've enjoyed this series and I'd like to thank you for taking the time to visit, so take good care of yourself.

PS: to all those I haven't replied to in the comments, please note that I will do so soon and that I wish I wasn't so late :)

I have to say that the most risky thing about it is getting a stiff neck

I think that's what I was most worried about. If you had a sore neck from constantly looking up. I thought the sun must be blinding at first but then I reasoned that the tall buildings are most likely blocking off most of the sun rays.

I really like that first picture though. Captures the whole essence.🌺

True that, but few days later, I had some pain in the neck, does it count or was it for an other effort ? I really don't know about ^^

Thank you for visiting dear @jhymi 😇

Have a good weekend ahead !

True that, but few days later, I had some pain in the neck,

Ouch.Sorry about that.

You're welcome and thank you. Hope you have a great weekend yourself.🤗

😍 This is something I use to do when I'm in the area of tall buildings and narrow streets, but I must admit, it's not easy. You did an excellent job!

It's indeed difficult to resist when there is such a profusion of narrow streets :)

Thank you @erikah, I'm glad you enjoyed those few shots, now I would like to try with me actual camera in Paris

Have a good day ahead ✌️

Interesting perspective when you take photos like this. Looks cool!

I haven't been to Lyon yet, but from your photos it looks very different to Paris. Oh, I love those hanging shoes 🙂

Have a good day!

Thank you dear @delishtreats :)

It was a good mini adventure to hunt for this heights and perspectives ! I also was quite impressed by your garden yesterday in your last article, congratulations ! I could have felt the works and pleasure behind that 😉

Have a lovely day !

Many thanks @claudio83 for you support and appreciation :D

These shooting angles must be challenging, man. I feel a little out of breath just looking at the photos. The streets look so narrow. You did a great job.

Thank you @incublus !

Indeed, but I've a training, I always look at the sky 😉

Have a good weekend and take care 🤞
